CC in Canada..what would you carry?

I have shot P99s...they seem okay to me, but I don't have enough trigger time on them to feel strongly either way.

I preferred the Glock trigger to either of the ones I have shot. But then I am very, very accustomed to the Glock trigger. I got out of SIG after finding I could not make it through a mag when moving at speed without short-stroking the trigger at least once.

I am tuned to Glock and 1911 triggers and have a hard time with longer resets.

I just carry 1 loose black talon round. The sight of it scares off most. Only once have I had to actually start poking a guy with it, and I live with that everyday. The look in his eyes before he blew into pieces haunts me every night.

I would probably carry my commander in 45. Maybe I would give in to not wanting the weight eventually and get something...uhg...plastic...maybe even in...oh god....9mm.

How come no one likes the Ruger SR-9? I've been using mine for ODPL/IDPA for months now and would swear by it. The M&P 40 is good too, I've been open carrying one for almost two years after we replaced our Model 10's

A relative of mine has one that we've shot together. I absolutely hate the trigger on his. He has difficulty with it as well:(

Yeah, I have not enjoyed the triggers much.

I am interested to give the PPQ a try; I've heard the triggers have improved some but I don't know if that's because they've improved, or because people have spent a thousand bucks on a gun and don't want to admit the trigger still sucks.

cough HK cough

LOL @ people wants to carry a 1911 or other full size. You know they will print and not to mention you will get tired of them because of the weight/size.

You've never carried a 1911...they are actually extremely concealable as a result of their slim, flat profile, and the weight doesn't bother everyone. The stiffer your belt, the less you notice the weight.

I have some good friends who started carrying Series 70s back when they were the only choice for the serious handgunner, and still do. A 1911 carries very easily for most.

And there is no post in this entire thread as funny as "CC a glock? I would carry a Makarov".

Yeah...great call. Makarovs were decent pistols considering what they were, but there is no way that the reliability of the Mak equals that of a non-broken Glock. The ammunition is more expensive, despite sucking, as it's practically impossible to track down decent HPs in 9x18 Mak. And the ergos are nowhere near as good, so unless you train constantly with your oddball ammo, you'll never be as good as a Glock shooter.

When it comes to CC, just going small is not the only consideration. It's very, very easy to conceal a Glock 19, and fairly easy to conceal a 17. I'm a slightly large guy with an athletic build and frankly I don't find it remotely hard to conceal a Glock 20.

I've got the Quick Action Trigger. I like the long steady trigger pull, shoot it way better than a revolver or 1911. It's small, light, accurate, extremely ergonomic... but it has major muzzle jump cuz it's so light. I don't think I'd want one in .40
I think the general consensus was that the double action only trigger was a peice of s**t and the single/double action was terrible on the first round but good after that.... I always read alot about a gun before I buy one. What I was saying is that the P99 is the cream of the polymer/striker fired crop. It's basically a refined Glock.

Anyone who says that does not know how to shoot a DAO or lacks experance

With my limited experience...I do know that shooting from a "standing bench", taking your time, focusing and pulling the trigger smoothly and slow often results in "good" groups.
I found out at my recent hoster/intro to IPDA course that its an entirely different scenario unholstering and shooting on the move. Nevermind remembering to take off the safety, do I have a round chambered, etc.
Personally, less is better (for me)so my choice is still a Glock(36) and since I'm not 12(6) a hammerless de-horned snubbie big bore revolver is out of the question.
