CC MRR - Colt Canada IOP Program

Got to handle the 11.6 and the 14.5 today and look at the 18.6. These uppers are light. The 14.5 is a given and will be a future addition for sure. The 11.6 is nice and would be a great cqb type gun. Surprisingly light.

$200 don't seem like much of a discount for men and women who risk there lives in some Sh!t hole. Any one who served over there should be given there service rifle... Just saying:)

I wonder if the buttstock will be the MOE mentioned in the comments, or the CTR shown in picture

I'm 99% sure it's a MOE stock. Pictures of the guns leaving the factory ready to be sold are all equipped with MOE stock.

It would be a nice gesture and your thoughts are appreciated, but when the IOP was introduced with the first CC offerings, there was some resentment from some of CGN community because they felt they were excluded. The same thing happened when the Savage 10TR first came out.

I got a great deal from the IOP for my SA20, but I'm not holding my breath for the same sort of deal on this one. Those of us who can't afford the entrance fee on the MRR, we can always hope a CC employee is having an off day and creates a nice big batch of blemished ones for us, lol!

And take that, or anything CC/O'Dell says, with a grain of salt. After unnecessarily having paid hundreds more for my SA15.7 rifles and later IUR because I was an early adopter, I'm going to sit this one out. Or at least until the dust has settled and they've gouged as many of us suckers as possible, before the inevitable price drops. I might jump back on the bandwagon at that point...maybe.

I remember that. I was pretty surprised, definitely price gouging which turned me off to their products indefinitely.

Problem with this is that they only get military ID as proof of service. The member could very well be a #### bag with 5 months in the army who constantly fakes injuries to get out of work. $200 is a sweet discount all things considered.

Well $200 is OK for those enlisted but haven't served, but for those who have $200 is garbage. And like others have said , once the dust settles they'll dump these with better than $200 discounts.

the 15.7 with green furniture was 1650 If i remember correctly.... lol ( Ill have to check my emails )

They can keep this one...lol... and like all the other C.C crap Limited runs will be replaced by blemished models a few weeks later... hahahahah

at these prices, I rather save for a MV :) at least its NR :)

That sounds about right, I think my SA20 was $1500.

The IOP on the IUR was $899 I think, but I would have been happy with the blemished ones for $500 or $600?

The best was the stripped lowers... some people got gouged hard.

I guess thats the GUN biz in Canada. screw over the consumers as much as possible.

I waited until the market chilled, bought a used SA20 and blem IUR for less than I will divulge. Just because you got excited and paid too much is your own fault. That said, at any price these are the finest AR platform weapons ever made IMO.

It's not about "getting excited and paying too much", it's about (possibly) Colt Canada and (definitely) distributors rigging prices to rip-off Canadian consumers and supporters of those businesses. Somebody has to go first, whether it is a minute, a day, or a month after sales are announced. If everybody gets burned by being first, then no-one will go first. And if no one goes first....well you get the idea, don't you? Some people aren't willing to wait on the sale of a limited production item (as were the SA15 and SA20) as they don't want to miss out. I grant you that is different than buying up mere parts, but the same principles apply. If the sellers rip off the buyers, then the buyers won't purchase - they will go elsewhere and everyone loses (except the new vendor). Having now been caught multiple times rigging prices, it remains to be seen if CC and (now) O'Dell take us for total fools with the MRR sales. The initial asking price is still pretty high for an AR...even one with an integral forend.....just saying. Maybe the price will come down, perhaps it won't. Watch and shoot, eh?

I'm a CC cheerleader and even I have to admit that their marketing and civilian sales "strategy" has been abysmal.

Please Mr. O'Dell, you're our only hope.

No one got ripped off. Some people justified the price to themselves and paid it. Then the price came down, way down and they felt like fools for paying the insanely high price they did. No one was forced to pay that price and if it's too high then the smart person doesn't buy it. Eventually the vendors either drop the price or eat the loss. All businesses are in business to make MONEY, profit. The price of goods is always jacked way up, but it's each individuals choice whether or not that price is worth it to them or not.

+1. CC is too much hype over substance.

Monolithic upper is so 2005.

It's a slick looking gun/upper but it looks a like a pain to work on.

There was 140 colt Canada (diemaco) rifles sold to a united states police department in the 90's. those rifles lightly used have been back in the country and sold to consumers a while back. Keep your eyes open there is more than one Colt Canada rifle out there and a fair amount of parts too.

I have several AR rifles (personal collection) including Colt Law Enforcement Carbine, marked (restricted military/government/law enforcement/ export use only). We sold several of these rifles that came in through R. Nicholls (F.N. Sports) and would have sold more if the order had not been interfered with by another dealer (and sales rep) who got the lion's share of almost 100 units. These rifles came in around 2000 in a time if memory serves my right was during the assault weapons ban 10 year period which allowed these to be surplus for the export/Canadian market. The upper has Diemaco markings. I still have an unfired unit to remind me of this time. We sold a few of the CC guns that came through Korth Group but didn't buy any from O'Dell as we were (and still are) uncertain as to what is happening to this line in Canada. The prices that we paid initially and subsequently offered to consumers seemed excessively high and we have been reluctant to carry any more at this time. Phil.

When Colt Canada released their first batch of IUR over runs (or whatever they were called) they were very hush hush about who the rifles were originally for.

Now we're seeing BRITISH SPECIAL FORCES splashed around. While I have no doubt the Brit SF are buying these awesome uppers I can't help but wonder why the change.

I just seen a night force scope for over $5000, prices reflect what people will pay.
