Big supporter of the CCFR, personally I think this is amazing. Some of the ideas I've seen on the Facebook page are to do segments on hunting with non-restricted black rifles Modern Hunter, NEA102, etc. Here is the official release from their Facebook page.

Never been done (#NBD)

The CCFR is now a National sponsor of "Canada Hunts" on Wild TV.

I am very excited to share the official news that the contracts have been signed and the CCFR is achieving yet another first for Canadian gun owners. The 2.5 million subscribers of WILD TV will now be exposed to our innovative brand of advocacy via commercials, cameos and dialogue throughout the 2018 season.

This was a logical next step for the CCFR. Introducing the wide subscriber base of hunters to our political realities will encourage more dialogue and more activism. This activism is desperately needed to boost our communities visibility across this great nation. Gun owners have suffered from 30 years of bad branding and we need to redefine that branding now.

Our members asked for TV and the CCFR delivered. We could not have achieved this without the current support that we receive from our dedicated membership. We have the goals set high and we will continue to break new ground for our community.

Please consider donating an amount of $5.56 to show us that you support the CCFR on Wild TV.

Advertising / segments on Wild TV are a good idea but I think it's *sort of* preaching to the choir. No doubt there are gun owners out there still in the dark as to the RCMP / Govt BS however why not go on mainstream media and reach out to those "on the fence" that may not be aware of the hoops we jump through.
The goal should be to inform just the gun owners.

Just my $0.02 and by all means keep up the good work!

Yes but getting donations and support from the "choir" allows them the funding to take the message like they do well to the public. It is a way to grow the base.

we have great popular people that can be used like jim shockey so hard core on ar15 hunting in usa but not a word in canada ... i lost interest in that channel ..

Alot of the viewers on Wild TV are traditional archers or long rifle hunters..most have limited Knowledge of "black rifles" and usually fall into the mindset they should be banned. IMHO Good place to start a campaign then move from there.

I hunt with "the choir" if anyone needs an education it's them, young and old, hardly any know the laws. Plus like others have stated, we need to try something. Paying Rebel media to fly to Arizona and take a handgun course is not the way I'd spend members money... we will see if the CSSA gets a good return on that..... CCFR's approach makes a lot more sense, we will see if it works, I think it will.

95% of gun owners do not support a gun org. Most don't care what so ever. We need to reach out to them to get them involved. There's a small group of us supporting the fight and an even smaller group doing the work. We need to grow interest in our orgs if we are ever going to have that "NRA" size presence. If people won't to join till the war is over, no mystery why we can't get what we want. We need everyone. Get on board and help, there's a lot more brewing than this if we can grow a bit more.

Absolutely: all I was getting at was that we need to make inroads in MSM as well. No doubt there are a lot of "normal" gun owners oblivious to the facts. I made that reference in my post as well.

Donations of $5.56 and an emphasis on hunting with black guns is going to "rebrand our bad image"? Is the CCFR going to regress into being just another "AR non restricted" advocacy mouthpiece?

A good ole boy all dressed in black with an NEA102 standing over a bullet riddled Bambi sounds more like a screen grab from an anti gun/antihunting ad than a rebranding?

- how about segments hinting at the different background of various hunters to show that we come from all walks of life?
- how about segments showing the latest charity fun shoot or outing for disadvantaged kids that was organized by a gun club?
- how about showing the association between hunting and conservation orgs like Ducks Unlimited?
- how about showcasing the artistic, historical and cultural significance of certain firearms?
- how about a ladies' corner showing their participation in every aspect of firearms? Anybody know a female gunsmith?
- how about the science of firearms? Ballistics, reloading variables, mechanisms.
- how about a segment on the charitable work done by firearms enthusiasts? Like Wolverine's raffle.
- how about commercials for charitable foundations supported by our gun orgs and gun clubs? We do have foundations like this don't we: htt ps://www.baeumlerfamilyfoundation.com?

This is a once in a lifetime chance to get the message out. Don't blow it.

Great suggestions.

....additionally, a huge percentage of the choir do not belong to fish & game/rod & gun clubs. As individuals, this leaves them without any form of insurance in the event of personal injury or liability coverage. Joining an organization such as the CCFR provides that insurance in addition to helping support the sport they are already engaging in.

I agree - well worded and some good ideas. I am a hunter, I do own ARs as well, and I don't feel the constant need to campaign to make it my rifle of choice in the bush.

Guys just to set the record straight, it was one idea I've seen floated around, and I personally found it great. I intend to hunt with my NEA 102 and ATRS has a 6 month wait list for their modern hunter rifles... so clearly there is a demand and a lot of hunters who do want their "AR's" in the bush. Just so I don't get jumped. My go to deer slayer is a single shot 20g with a rifled barrel. My go to yote rifle is CZ524 in 204. My duck gun is a browning gold hunter. I do feel strongly about being able to hunt with what I prefer, and let others hunt with what they like.

Scout has tons of good ideas! Are you a member of the CCFR? If so please share them on their Facebook page, or become a field officer. That way they might be heard by the powers to be.

Thank for the support folks, I'll be talking to and supporting CCFR.

Sorry if I was seen to be picking on you Luc; your clarification in post #18 nails it. Being able to take the firearm of your choice to the field and to have the widest possible selection to choose from is my personal goal as well - that represents the freedom which we all deserve. I just have a very strong opinion that making one example, even one class, of firearm as our cause celebre is wrong headed because this is about us, not our guns.

Better chance of getting more gunnies behind us of we can settle on some strategies that appeal to the broadest number of individuals within our community instead of letting egos and little petty agendas erupt into internal turf wars.

You are absolutely correct! We need to be thinking a longer game with a high level strategy and tactical goals with target dates for milestones to build on. Some of these activities can unfold in parallel and in fact they must because time is extremely short!

- step 1 is what you correctly point out and that is to build our ranks
- step 2 is to change our image into one which cannot be ignored or readily broken down

Once we have "muscle" we would be in a better position to choose which political parties we want to play with, how best to use the individual strengths of the orgs to make our demands and keep up the pressure and which NGO's to support.
