I normally load 9mm with 3.6 grains of tightgroup powder and CCI 500 spp, 1.100 C.O.L, I recently purchased some CCI 550 spmp by mistake? Safe to use? Should I back powder off to 3 grains? Advice please lol

Small capacity cases like the 9X19 can be finicky with small changes that make no difference in larger cartridges. I think dropping to 3 grs is prudent, then if you're so inclined, work up in .2 gr increments until you hit the velocity you had in your standard primer load.

Good advice from Boomer. I use CCI 550 for my 9mm, it keeps me from having to switch primers when I reload .357mag. Haven't seen any problems yet. I shoot my 9mm off a Cx4 with a 19" barrel that's rated for +P anyhow. I'll have to get CCI 500 one day and see if it changes a thing for it. :)
