Anybody have any case separation issues with recent production ammo? I had buldging of case heads and two blown case heads today.Rifle is a10/22 with aftermarket bbl and reciever. I put 50 rds of Federal AE throught afterwards. No problems were seen. Ammo was bought in Vancouver area recently. I don't know yet if it's an ammo or headspace issue. I have shot alot of 22 over the years and not seen this before. One separation blew the mag out of the rifle, BEWARE.

It's a good thing I got poor service at Canadian Tire and was ignored, I was just about to stock up with Blazer.

I have shot 10s of thousands of Blazer and not had so much as a misfire. I hope none of my current stock has any issues. I just bought a bunch of this ammo.

I'd believe 1/16 MOA groupings at 100m, before I believed the above.

I've shot about 8 bricks of blazer and 2 of federal champion 525 through my mark II in the last year without a single dud. couple of bricks of winchester dynapoints too, but plenty of duds in the winchesters.

Greg,
So far this year I have shot about 3,000 rds of Blazer and haven't had any problems. Not 1 dud out of the bunch.Might wanna have someone have a look at your rifle.

Well CCI fans( Iam one ) can relax.
Closer inspection of my rifle came up with a tight chamber.Cartridges cannot be pushed into chamber easily by hand. Hopefully the manufacturer can polish or ream for better fit.
For a 12 inch bbl it shoots like a hot damn.

Well thats good to hear...... I have 15 brick of CCI Blaser in the cabinet..... And I just picked up another case this weekend at the Swift current G-show, the price was so good I bought all they had!

All my semi's eat this stuff like mad, it's the most accurate .22 round for all of my 22's.

Cheers!

I've fired about 50 of my 525 Federal Champion Bulk Pack, and I've had 10 misfires. That's HORRIBLE. Who's making this cr*p!? I've NEVER had an issue with CCI, always has been my go-to cartridge when I can find it. Not common out here in the boonies.

Maybe that's why Federal includes the 25 "bonus" rounds... to make us feel better. :)

I have been having the same problem with Fed 525's lately, but just in the 'Champion" packs.... The 'Game Shock' packs have been good.

It's funny but I never had a problem with any manufactures ammo in regards to duds untill 8 weeks ago, then all os a sudden I had 10 or 11 out of one 525 bulk box. Teh 2 boxes before and the 2 boxes after were all good...... and from the same batch/lot too...... weird!

What lot was your "bad" rounds in?

Mine was: 1AW634

Cheers!

I've shot about 5 1/2 boxes of Federal 525 bulk packs. I'm just working my way through the last half of the 6th box. Not a dud or even a soft round in the lot.

I've had similar great luck with Blazer. Never a dud and no soft shots either out of many hundreds of rounds. In fact I got an option to pick up a case of 5000 for a good price recently and was happy to take advantage of it.

I'm a little sensitive to this because I bought two bricks of AE a while back and it had about 1 in 10 that were a soft charge and would not cycle the semi auto properly. I soon relegated the AE ammo to running it through my revolvers where the soft rounds were no issue. Or at least not as MUCH of an issue. I had a couple that were SO soft that I stopped and cleared the cylinder and had to look down the barrel to ensure that a bullet was not stuck mid way along. I'm very gun shy of AE rimfire at the moment because of this.

I have had no issuse with either the federal 525 or the blazer 525 bulk boxes.on the weekend I had a winchester 333 round go kaaboom .the rim of the case split about 1/3 of the way around.this was the only problem I had with the hole box.I was shooting 5 shot group with my savage mk2 FVT.I believe it was an over charged round as the poi was about 1.5" high above the other 4 rounds.
