Anyone used this ammunition yet?I just heard about it today, there are claims it might make the .17 redundant as it uses the standard .22 rifle.

CCI Copper is 22lr and travels roughly 1800fps while most .17hmr is 2300+fps so you'll have a flatter trajectory over a longer range. Unlikely it will make .17hmr redundant because it isn't the same.. Even hyper-velocity 22lr doesn't come close to that speed.

Want even replace the 17 mach 2 either. Energy falls off very fast on that copper 22lr. the mach 2 has a few ft/lbs more energy at 200 yards then the 22 copper goes at 75 yards.

One big factor will be if it can match the accuracy or not which the .17 excels at.not sure what the terminal effect will be on small game ,either.price of ammunition could be a factor though

Have you seen it anywhere in Canada? I would try a couple boxes although I have read some stuff and no one seems to be getting any accuracy out of them. Like 2" groups at 50yrds.
Seems the hyper velocity rounds accuracy goes to crap, that little bullet will shed velocity real quick too.

I was told by an employee at Canadian Tire it was coming in.But since most of my 22 shooting is under 50 yards anyway I'm not sure what real benefit it will be to me( the reason I never bought a .17)

i have a box at home shoot 15 bullet and there not the greatess ammo a send they are just good at 25 meters the bullet are ultra light too so try not to shoot them wend there some win
