CCI No. 300 Large Pistol Primers

It'll depend on powder, some loads require magnum primers while others don't.
I also read people tried using both magnum and regular primers with loads requiring magnum and saw no difference.

I guess you were short of responses because this question, or variant, has been answered soooooo many times on the threads.
Short answer. Use standard pistol primer in any pistol calibre, including all the magnum calibres.
With any powder suitable for pistols, including the magnums, and yes, even if you use H110, or W296.
If someone is telling you to use magnum primers with certain revolver calibres and/or with certain powders, it is something they have read in a book, or been told, but all the experienced reloaders I know, use standard primers.

Thanks Mark. I always think back to what did people do before magnum primers, of any sort, rifle or pistol came along.
Maybe you remember a while back I delved into when magnum primers first came out. Briefly, 1961, Jack O'Connor article listing primers available. No magnums.
1962-63, Ellwood Epps catalogue, no magnum primers.
1964-65, Ellwood Epps catlaogue, magnum primers available.
Those powders, and calibres, some claim magnum primers are needed for, were in popular use long before the above dates.
