Came across these a couple times in my travels, and was wondering if anyone knows of a source for them here in Canada in .45 auto.
If anyone doesn't know what i'm referring to here;

Useful? Probably not unless someone has a nice carbine like the KRISS and happens to have a rat/mouse problem, but i'd have a lot of fun playing around with them.

Thanks for the help!

Found a box in 38/357, quite fun, been looking at buying more for a while, not any luck so far.

There's also empty capsules for reloading by speer, once again not been able to source some up here.

I have some for the 22 which suck real bad and would not take out a rat after hitting him 3 times. They say however the 38 and up are pretty good for pests.

Quick hopeful bump for more potential information?
I happen to personally know of a KRISS Vector that would very much like to eat a box of these.

I've read that they don't cycle well in all guns. Would a SMG type action like the Kriss require more gas pressure to cycle?
I have a box in 44 mag and they are pretty unimpressive. I bought it for the novelty factor and that's about all they are good for in Canada. If we could use handguns for pest control it would be a whole other matter.
It has come up several times over the past few months here on CGN and no one really has a source for them in any calibre. I bought mine from a local shop and they where covered in dust behind some .308 on a shelf. Most people seem to recommend ordering them through Henry at Budget but I don't know if anyone ever did.

Hey Chicken, well I intend on finding out. :D
The vector is a blowback, and I figure if the shot shells produce enough recoil to cycle the 1911, then they probably provide enough to cycle the vector.
I'm talking out of my ass here but I was under the impression that typically delayed blowbacks are well suited to lower power cartridges. Clearly that's very general and individual design elements of a particular weapon take precedence, but I don't think it's unreasonable to hope these cycle.

Especially when you consider the fact that KRISS is releasing a .22LR version of the Vector;

Obviously with some modifications to the bolt and such, but it does show that inherently the operating system in principal doesn't require super hot loads to be made to work.

Of course this is all conjecture, but find me a couple boxes and I can tell you for sure. :p

I shot a big rat under a porch on the farm many yrs ago with a .22 from about 10'. It died right there!:cool:

Another time I broke a window at camp with the same CCI shotshells shooting at a mouse scampering across the window sill on a moonlit night. Never did get that little bugger....:redface:

Lots of times when hunting grouse with the .22 the one in the chamber is a shotshell for those close-up shots I may encounter. If it is out further I just extract & in goes a HP cartridge.

Those were the good ole days. The rat/snake shot has a place in the shooting world..
