CCI Stinger

I really doubt that. .17s bleed velocity, and exponentially energy. I hit a badger with 4 .17 HMR at 100-120m before the thing stopped. Aside from shooting it in the eyeballs I couldn't have placed the rounds better.

Don't know where you hit the badger but i have shot beaver at up to 147 yds the place where i shoot it is impossible to get closer than 90 yds, every one has been 1 shot 1 kill.

Velocitors provide fairly clean kills compared to any .17 HM2 at any range under 200m.

Only if you manage to make a vital hit. What percentage of your Velocitors result in vital hits on ground squirrels at 150 yards, let alone 200 yards?

Sorry but I'll take energy\weight over guessitmation any day.

100% so far. Any other questions? I am not a poor shot. If you are, try .50 BMG.

100% so far.

So 100 % of your shots at ground squirrels at 150 yards result in vital hits? You never miss a shot,or wound a ground squirrel at that distance with your 22lr shooting velocitors? If that is the case, you are an exceptional shot.

Yes I am, I blew the jaw off a RGS. It ran towards me spraying blood everywhere. Is was the bloodiest most violent experience I have had hunting. since then I don't shoot unless the animal is certain to die IMO. I'd rate my hunting effiency at 99 percent easily.

I have seen some truly exceptional shooters, and even they don't fire thousands upon thousands of rounds at ground squirrels without ever missing a shot or wounding a ground squirrel. It's hard to believe that anyone could fire thousands of rounds under field conditions, and never once miss or wound an animal the size of a ground squirrel out to 200m with any weapon, let alone a 22lr.It is truly amazing that you claim to do just that.

I am not a fool. Who fires thousands of rounds without thousands of gophers to shoot? I guess you have s problem with my trigger finger?? I have nagged badgers and Coyotes out to 250m. Coyotes run, but not for long...

There are many thousands of gophers to shoot. You just have to find them and ask the landowners for permission.I have shot hundreds in a day on many occasions.
One poster at the link below talks of him and his son firing nearly 10,000 rounds in 10 days.

In one 10 day period, we went thru almost 10,000 rounds ( the numbers of gophers were unbelievable, so I started taking pics) .

So for you 10,000 rounds fired would mean 10,000 dead gophers.

I shoot the Marlin 717 rifle in a 17mach2. I have shot many ground squirrels with a 22lr. Since I got the 17mach2, I haven't used the 22lr. The 17mach2 just does the killin so much better.
:ar15:

Richardson Ground Squirrel... I have fired 100 rounds in an outing and ended up with 101 dead "gophers" so yes 10,000 rounds shot could mean 10,000 dead critters. Patience and shooting skill are great things to have. I suppose you could try and compensate by only owning the most accurate guns you can afford though.

Sorry for the hijack....

Tell us all about this wonderful rifle you posess that shoots rimfire out to 250 and kills stuff with tremendous regularity? FS

I am happy to back up my claims if it makes any difference. A few Coyotes and other critters with rimfire at 250+m are one thing, a rimfire "that shoots rimfire out to 250 and kills stuff with tremendous regularity?" is another matter.... I have killed more Varmint than ammo in many outings...

canadian tire on tuesday. spend 40 they gave a 10 dollar gift card. 6.99 a box * 6 10 bucks back. Repeat as necessary.

works out to 5.32 a box. Then on the way home I stopped at the gunsmith in nigadoo nb. He sold me a brick for 65.00 tax in which is like 5.75 a box.

Something smells funny? Bull#$% perhaps.

Congratulations, your the first person ever to have 100, excuse me 101 confirmed kills on gophers in a row. They were confirmed weren't they? You never missed just one or two?
