I've read numerous warnings about not using this brand of ammo because of the longer case length, and upon close inspection I can see that it is in fact longer than your run of the mill .22lr round. most of what I've seen refers to not using stingers in 10/22's with match chambers. does anyone else use stingers in their standard carbine model, which is what I have. they are grreat out of my lakefield mk.2 but I would like to try them with my 10/22

Yes, I've used them. Just match or Benz chambers are a hair shorter and the bolt can be not completely closed when the round is fired....which could be bad. On a regular chamber they are okay.

I have used the stingers alot in my 10/22. No problemo, as well as in a 597vtr. I shoot the 10/22 way more though as it field strips much easier.

would you fellas say that stingers are the fastest commercial .22lr out there? the box says 1600fp but what length of barrel are they basing that on? they certainly have a more pronounced crack than the winchester 555 stuff which is what I usually shoot. i've got several boxes of 50 and a gopher date in oyen coming up with my new ruger so thanks all for the quick responses. I will give them hell on a silver platter...

I use stingers in my 10/22 all the time, they work great. Also have a buddy, has a Winchester semi that's very picky on ammo, most doesn't cycle well, so bad he was going to sell it, got him to try a box of stingers, works great, as fast as he can pull the trigger, feeds and ejects perfect. Works so well now, he doesn't want to sell it anymore! He has a high standard pump too, and they function flawlessly in it as well.
