CCI Stingers and my Butler Creek SS BBL on my 10/22

I have 2 BC barrels. one is a carbon fibre wrap 16? inch and the other is a 20 inch solid stainless bull. Both shoot stingers. Neither get great accuracy with them. By not great, I mean they are close to twice as bad as the finest cheapest champ -- AE hollow point.

That is because the chamber is slightly smaller than a regular .22lr chamber. It is designed to give great accuracy with the regular rounds but the stingers longer case causes problems. If you still have your ruger manual have a look under the target model. The bull barrel has a bentz chamber and strictly forbids them. There is also the chance you could fire the rifle out of battery and seperate the case. I have seen this and trust me you want to be wearing safety glasses when it goes down.
