I have been playing with some 22s recently, including a new to me Ruger Target 10/22 and a Savage A22 in the heavy metal stock.
In the first 3 rifles I tried, the SK Plus was best. Then I discovered CCI Standard Velocity, and it was as accurate and cheaper (about $5.50 a box).
Today I was testing my A22 at 50 yards. (Sandbags and a 20X scope)
It shot best with CCI SV. About 0.70" with 10 shot groups.
The SK Plus was clearly not as good. About 0.85" I don't mind that. Its like your wife saying she prefers Coors Lite to expensive wine.
Then I tried Aguila SV. It shot as well or maybe even better than the CCI SV. I only shot 4 10-shot groups, so it is a bit early to be definitive, but for sure it is the best cheap plinking ammo ($4.50 a box) It shot about 1/4" higher than the CCI SV.
