Does anyone know where I can find CCW holsters for Sig P228's? I've found several websites located out of the US but I have a funny feeling that they probably won't ship them across the border. Besides, if I can find them landed in Canada already, they'll probably be a bit cheaper.

Any suggestions as to what style or make I should get? I'm looking to do some practice drawing from concealment. I've heard good things about IWB holsters but I just don't like the idea of shoving a gun down my pants.... even if it is in a holster.

I think ideally I'd like one made out of leather that sits just aft of my hip, riding high and canted slightly forward.

Thoughts? Suggestions?

Thanks!

Matthew

Dave Surplus brings in Gould and Goodrich holsters, very nice to use, here is one for a 1911/HP. They also have a sweatguard.

If you want Kydex, look at Blade-Tech.

If you want leather, horsehide or cowhide or whatever, look at Kramer, Milt Sparks, and Mitch Rosen.

C. Rusty Sherrick holsters look good too.

All will ship be happy to ship to Canada.

I've got an M-tac Minotaur for my G29 (http://www.comp-tac.com/product_info.php?products_id=95). Fantastic holster. Very comfortable. There was no problems getting it from the States either. I've ordered several items from them and they always arrive on time (with a candy, and allen wrench). The girls there treat you right.:D

Alessi is top notch, better than Delfatti and Bulman in my opinion (I own examples from all 3).

However wait times are between 1-2 years to get anything, he recently passed on but company is still in business.

Comptac has some interesting Kydex and leather/kydex hybrids. I prefer their mag pouches to leather ones. They make good stuff and ship promptly.

Just ordered 2 obscure leather paddle holsters from Ross this morning. While I was at it I ordered a ccw for my cz as well. No problem shipping and great customer service.

It is hard to get holsters from Lou Alessi as he has been ill. Uncle Lou is a friend of mine, I have dealt with him for years. With this said, Lou will even admit that Matt Del Fatti's holsters are works of art.

The top North American makers are all good. In my case, I happen to like Ken L. Null's products a lot. Ken makes great CCW holsters, just ask the "Spooks".

I own and I have carried a P228 and my holster of choice for it is a Kramer Michigan State Police (MSP), it just works well with the P228.

Regards,

Richard:)
