Cdn Tire, Whitecourt AB, is selling some firearms now! They don't have an enormous selection, but they've got some Mossberg, Savage, and Henrys.

Couldn't help myself, I bought a Henry lever gun in .22WMR. :)

It is always a good thing to display and sell firearms in high volume chain stores. Hopefully it will make them more acceptable to mainstream consumers. That being said I doubt I would ever buy a firearm from CT. There are just too many quality dealer sponsors here on CGNs who are trying to make a living selling firearms that I would have a hard time justifying giving my money to a store that also sells housewares and tires.

I agree. More exposure to the general populous the better! Disagree regarding the site sponsors thing though. If they have it and the price is fair sure. But from my experience if they are out of stock or have prices through the roof, I will walk to CDN tire 5 minutes and buy it there.

If CT was smart, they could buy up small little retail properties and make them into a chain of outdoor supply stores. Similar to their Part Source stores. CT have a huge selection of firearm related goods to buy. They just choose not to because of square footage in the stores. Their gun purchase catalog alone is just as big as any other gun shop.
Also, the majority of the CT stores are owned by a single business man also trying to make a living. Only about 22 stores nation wide are corporately owned.

The Canadian tire in Belleville Ontario is one of the biggest gun stores around .. They stock every shell that you would ever want .
any of the hard to get stuff .. If Crappy tire in belleville does not have it .. You are not going to get it at a gun shop either .
They have so much hunting stuff there it is hard to justify going to pro bass in Toronto that is a two hour drive one way .
So SOME Canadian tire stores are getting big into hunting stuff .. The Canadian tire In Kingston Ontario is big with guns also.
They have three Canadian tire stores In Kingston and one is Good for hunting stuff and the other two not so much

Sounds a lot like the line up in the new C T in Naniamo. They had a bit of powder and stuff too

Just went down to the Whitecourt one, the lady told me they have been selling guns like crazy. Almost bought one but I simply have WAY to many right now and need to start selling.

The one in Cold Lake has got lots of guns, some powder components and reloading stuff. Has milsurp ammo too. The one in Leduc has got a fair selection as well, got 2 from there one day.

Canadian Tire in Leduc has a Whole isle. I got a 1930 hex bolt tula Mosin Nagant today for $155. I also got an archangel stock and spare mags. They even had a Steyr 50 bmg. I was surprised to find this in Canadian Tire.

^^^ Visited CT Leduc recently as well and although the selection was not vast by any means, it is still interesting to check out. Nice deal on the Nagant.

The manager of the store in Vegreville says that he will order in whatever you want if it is available in Canada. I haven't tried yet.

I picked up a mossberg 930 from the CT in Thompson MB not too long ago. They also get in sks's 15 at a time for $199 each. I was chatting with the key master and she offered to let me rummage thru the stack if I commit to buy one. If they ever go for $130 I may just have to pick up a second one.
