August 28th

We have added rimfire division as requested.

As always, we will be setting up the day before and permitting camping. Setup will start around 10AM the Saturday before all matches.

It is very important that we get a good turnout to help set up the match the day before, as well as help from all the participants to put stuff away when we're done. These are fun matches, but they can only happen if everyone chips in to help.

Here are some answers to questions that I'm sure a lot of you have. If you want some clarification on any of my answers, let me know. If this information brings up more questions, let me know.

Directions to the range - On our website, we have a downloadable map to the Milo range. Please pay very close attention to the requirement to come down Range Road 223 and backtrack along Township Road 184. This keeps your dust out of our closest neighbours on Range Road 224, plus it's a safer road (less hills). If this map is in any way unclear, please let me know and I'll see if I can cook up a version that can be downloaded directly to Google Maps on your phone for turn-by-turn awesomeness.

Registration - We use Practiscore for registration and scoring. Details will be available later, but as in the past, people should start showing up at or before 9:00AM to check in, fill out guest passes, pay, etc. Registration will be followed by a safety briefing. We will begin the safety briefing at 9:30 AM sharp. Attendance at the safety briefing is mandatory. If you arrive after the safety briefing, you will be turned away.

Black Badge and other Certifications - We do not require holster courses. There may be parts of the courses of fire that are different if you do not have a holster course. Basically, if you don't have a holster course, you won't be allowed to start a stage with a round in the chamber of your pistol. We do, however, frequently require you to start with an empty pistol regardless of training or certification as part of the CoF for a stage. Our matches are set up to appeal to both 3-Gun aficionados as well as first-timers.

Rules https://www.cdtsa.ca/uploads/1/8/3/3/18330887/aatg_-_rules___conduct_v3.pdf

Ammunition - See the rule book for information on permissible ammunition. The Coles Notes version is that we do not allow any ammunition with steel penetrator cores. If your bullets stick to a magnet, they will not be allowed. NOTE: The bullet cannot stick. Steel-cased ammo with lead-core bullets is 100% fine.

As this is a 2 gun event with some framework regarding ammo, there is a minimum number of hits required for each stage for each firearm. There is also a maximum number of rounds you can shoot per stage and/or match based on the maximum number of magazines you are permitted to carry.

The basis for ammunition loadout consists of a maximum of 4 pistol magazines including the one in the firearm, and 6 magazines for your rifle including the one in the firearm. With that in mind and knowing that top ups are always free, this match has a maximum shot count (if you're having a really bad day) of 173 pistol, and 136 rifle. If you're having an amazing day, the minimum number of shots (equal to minimum number of required hits) to complete this match is 58 pistol, and 66 rifle. Like all matches, bring MORE AMMO THAN THE MINIMUM.

The maximum shot count is based on a 10 round magazine for your pistol and a 5 round magazine for your rifle.

If your rifle is a PCC and happens to use 10 round magazines, then you are lucky enough to have even more potential for making up missed shots. If your PCC shares the same magazine as your pistol then good news for you. Sharing of magazines between rifle and pistol is permitted however, you may not carry more than 10 total magazines ( 4 pistol 6 rifle).

August 28th 2 Gun round count.
69 pistol
52 rifle
We strongly encourage people to bring plenty of extra. While we have a max loadout, there could be reason for a reshoot. Max load out would be 4 pistol mags and 6 rifle mags per stage. Which works out to 200 pistol rounds and 150 or 300 rifle rounds depending on magazine size. While the round count is low, the stages are challenging and no one will shoot it clean, so bring lots.

So - pistol and a rifle, mags, holsters, etc. Do I need anything more powerful than a red dot on the rifle? How far out are the rifle shots, generally? I've never shot a 2 gun or 3 gun match before and I'm curious!

I could not find any information on the rimfire divisions. Can I shoot a rimfire rifle and rimfire pistol or is it rimfire rifle and center fired pistol?
