It's mostly 9,3x57 on the centrefires.
Nobody in Canada I know off sells ammo for it. If you dont handload or have a stash - those are wall hangers !
By the time one buys the die, bullets, brass, powder, primers and reloading equipment you'll exceed the purchase price of these 80+ year old guns by min 300%.Good lord! Did I miss something? There was a time when being a gunnut meant going out of one's way to shoot cartridges that required spending time at the reloading bench. Back then, "Handloader Magazine" was, by far, my favourite gun rag.
Now, I get it -- not everyone wants to spend their winter evenings neck turning brass. But c'mon -- necking up some brass to fit a 9.3x57mm isn't that hard.
Kids these days... Sheesh!

It's probably a nice rifleThere was one in 30-06 for 299.99 yesterday
Yah, I remember that episode Wasn't there mag well problems so it could only hold a certain kind of ammo ? PPU, IIRC...What would it cost to make it a X 62?
Probably not so little that it would be economical. X62s can be had pretty cheap for the exact same reason as these guns - ample supply from Euro countries who limit the number of guns you can own. What would it cost to make it a X 62?
