"In compliance with the special arrangements made with Indonesian authorities for the match, all firearms must be stored overnight in the official armoury operated by the Indonesian Police at the Discovery Kartika Plaza Hotel. No fees are charged for storage.

If you're staying at another hotel, remember to factor in the extra time necessary to retrieve and return your firearms to the official armoury in your daily schedule.

On each day of the World Shoot, competitors can collect their firearms from the official armoury from 0530hrs, on presentation of their claim tag. The firearms must be returned to the official armoury before 2100hrs on the same day they were removed."

Important note: If you break your journey in Jakarta, then take a domestic flight to Bali later, you will be limited to a maximum of twelve (12) rounds of ammunition as checked baggage per person, which means you'll incur additional expenses having your ammunition shipped by land or sea to Bali.

However you won't be affected by this regulation provided that when checking-in for your flight at your origin, you and your baggage are ticketed all the way through to Bali, .
 - and we thought Canadian regs are stupid, haha!

I guess they better hope no stages run late eh? would suck to not have the guns back in time. I bet they chop off hands if you're late or something nice like that.
 
well, this is not set in stone, and I'm not on the NEC or privy to their thinking, but the starting point is the standings based on your best two results out of the last 3 nationals. That gives the NEC a list to go down, offering slots for team members. After that the list is used if there are more requests than slots available. So unless you think you will be offered a slot as a team member, then you need to notify your section head that you want to be put on the list of additional shooters, probably it would be nice to let him know even if you think you will be offered a team slot.
There is a initial slot distribution to the regions and a deadline to fill or return them. Returned slots are then redistributed to those regions that used all their slots and requested more.
If I recall correctly, Canada did not use all our initial slots for ecuador and returned some. South Africa was probably more popular, but I don't think anyone got turned down.
There is a thread on Global Village with a link to a beta website with lots of info on travel, hotels and tours.

the nationals standings list is on the IPSC Canada website, but it hasn't yet been updated with the results of this year's match (that's a lot of typing for whoever, haha, so just wait patiently), but just looking at the numbers, I don't think that the order of the top 5 will change based on the results of this year's match (in Production). Nick, Dallas, and James don't have any other Prod scores, so even though they did well, they won't be more than half way down the ranking list; Cliff and Clint will keep their raw numbers (since their best 2 out of last three are 2005 and 2006, so losing 2004 won't matter), Slavex'es raw total will decrease a little bit (diff between 91.73 and 88.88) but I'll drop down by more, so he'll still be #3, and I'll stay at #4, with Jamieson dropping down a bit in raw total, but not in ranking, staying at #5... Vince will drop out, with only 1 score available after that, so Kent will go up to #6, and after that, who knows... ;)

Hmmm.... go to the world shoot on the team with Cliff, Clint, and Slavex... that might be fun.... :D :D
 
Does IPSC Can help out the top 4 guys to go to the WS or is it just a team member rank with a slot?

Loading up the 19 round CZ mags is going to fun in Bali.
 
I think there is some support for the members of the team... beyond that, you're on your own...
 
cool, if I am still on the team then I am going to go. even if I have to take a leave of absence from work. don't really care if I have to central store for the match. but I'll make sure I have extra insurance on my gear that's for sure.
wonder if anyone has got shipping of ammo sorted out for this one? doesn't look like the charter idea is going to work out.
 
Actually, Jim has a score from 2006; his 80.31 out of nick's 88.59 gives him an adjusted score of 90.6 percent for 2007. This gives him an aggregate of 176.31 for the team standing. Not sure where this places him, though.

;) I have yet to see any score in any match adjusted to exclude out of province or out of country competitors, so I'll be curious to see if that happens here ;) Is this suggestion based on any actual policy, or more along the lines of wishful thinking? I've been trying to get out of province shooters excluded from Ont matches for classification purposes for years, without any luck...

I tihnk he means that Jim had a score for PD in 2006, and that the above is his 2007 percentage.
am I right?
either way we'll see just what the makeup of the guns is come this fall I guess. And that can mean more than just who's shooting for the team.
 
Hi Folks.

#1. We (the NEC ) use the national rankings, which are based on your best 2 out of the last 3 nationals results (see www.ipsc-canada.org) to offer slots. The first 4 that take slots in the division are team members.

#2 IPSC Canada supports the team members financially. It's different every year based on whatever funding we've saved up. Last time it was $1500 per head plus uniforms. It won't cover the whole thing, but will help. Everyone else is on their own for funds.

#3 Slots to the WS are given out based on regional size. Since we tie for size with the largest countries in IPSC, (base on IPSC's 2K max.) we should get as many as any other country. The number of overall competitors that the match can handle is also a deciding factor. The last WS was 900 competitors, and we got 40 slots. We didn't use them all either.

#4 The ranking process is a manual one; moving this year's results to match every one's names in the list for each division. Yes, I do that spreadsheet. I've been busy just catching up from last week with work and the IPSC NS provincials, so don't expect to see it complete until sometime late next week.

#5 Yes, we calculate % for the rankings based on the Canadian Champion in that division for that year, not on a foreign winner. See 2005 and 2006 Open - No Henning. 2007 Production won't have an Angus, Standard won't have an Emmanuel and Open won't have a Martin. It's a Canadian Ranking. This is / has been national policy forever. Section classifications, etc. are their own policies.

#6 If you want to go - you must contact your section coordinator and let them know this fall. (No need to rush, think about the trip - - your S/C will assume you're commited to going - it's going to be expensive - probably $3-4K, take at least two weeks and you might want to consider if you really want to go to that part of the world - see http://www.cdnn.info/alert/travel/w070531.html)

There will be a reminder in the next diligentia with more details. IPSC will let us know how many slots we get over the winter, we'll have a very short time frame to confirm we'll take them and pay for them, so being ready in advance is important. In the Philippines, South Africa and Ecuador, we got enough slots for everyone who wanted to go, so your odds are good.

#7. I'll know more details about the match itself after the General Assembly next month in France.

I guess my canadian infidel shirt is a no go eh? (duh). I would assume that we'll have to all be very very careful in our actions and words over there. Represent Canada to the best of our abilities and all that.
 
so no walking around saying " dirka, dirka" damn. I guess I'll have to cancel my "I'm with Muhamed" shooting jersey order. What a shame it had a great picture of him.
