Centre Axis Relock

Anyone that tells you that they have THE way and nobody else knows what they are talking about...is full of it!
Put another way, competition shooters will use whatever technique they need to use to win, ego is wrapped up in results not how they look...well, except maybe for Mike A., lol...if this worked as well as professed, you'd see it all over the range.
Consider also that top Military and Police units are going to top USPSA/IPSC shooters like Rob Leatham, Todd Jarrett, Jerry Barnhart, Ron Avery etc. for training should tell you something about what they feel works...

Well, I can kind of see if you're wearing heavy, bulky body armour and have limited arm movement as a result why this might work, because face it, if you're wearing body armour like that, shooting yourself isn't really an issue.

However to say it's fantastically better than isoceles is crap, imv.

Also if you're training secret USG units, I don't see that you're going to go on a videogamer site to brag about it.

I have a feeling though we're going to be hearing a lot about this, so I think people need to be aware of it.

I will say this, anytime you see some thing like this, give it a try, no matter what you will learn something. Too many rely on the internet and magazine to tell them how to shoot, get out and give it a go and see for yourself what works. Then you can use, modify or discard it based on how it worked for you. There are no right answers. Once upon a time they said a lot of the same stuff when guys like Rob Leatham and Brian Enos started using an isoceles based "stance" and now it's in general use because it works.
I say "stance" because we are never really truly in a static stance position, ours is a dynamic sport and your stance must be adaptive to what you need for each shot on each target.

A number of US firearms instructors will not allow advocates of CAR to attend their schools or classes.

The difference between a good shooter and a great shooter is that a good shooter has a good technique that works for them; a great shooter has practiced every technique and knows them all.

Like I said I can see in limited situations it might have some use, but generally speaking I think not.

Great course

I have trained with RCMP and many others and have taken the C.A.R. system twice, once in Virginia and once with one of the most respected police forces in Canada,it was given to all their instructors and they loved it.
I just feel until you have a training in it,don't knock it:D
Yes Paul is a cocky son of a gun,put a great guy:)

someday that slide is going to take a piece out of someones cheek (negative aspect) I see it to be good for shooting from a car,...and looks similiar to what one would do clearing a house......up close stuff....it has its place.

For s**ts and giggles I tried that stance at the range Thursday night. I was able to hit stuff, but man - it felt weird. I'll acknowledge it might have certain advantages for certain occupations; but none for anyone in this section of the website. (Action shooting Games)

There is a reason none of the truly switched on high speed alphabet soup guys touch this. They can smell snake oil salesmen from miles away.

I'm a mediocre shooter and i can shoot fast from the hip one handed at that distance and have a decent hit ratio. I don't see the benefit to this being any different then SUL or any other compression of a traditional stance for cqb and at any distance past 10 yards I foresee poor hits or misses.

I guess it depends on if your plan is to try to look cool like the video gamers, or win matches....
