Century Arms N-PAP AK-47 Semi-Automatic 7.62mmX39mm 16.25" 30+1 Wood Stock

for some reason I just though that since it was on irungun website, that it could be imported.

and you never know when you might hit a unicorn ....

That looks VERY similar to an AKM receiver. I wouldnt be surprised if it was one. Wasnt there a bunch of pellet guns imported from China a few years ago that were made on AKM receivers? And later prohibited?

Yes there was..
I bought one and it cost close to $500
I actually had to call the RCMP four times before they even listened to me.

finally I got "it's a bb gun?, if it's a bb gun then your fine."
And when I said "OK then, take my name down, record this, and I am going to record this conversation so if anything does come of this, then I will have proof you told me I could own it with no problems.. Then they decided to look further into it.
I ended up giving to my local police department for destruction.

The owners of a couple of businesses that sell airguns were raided by the RCMP at gunpoint, they bought these airguns legally .... I know one of the owners personally...
His whole family was held at gunpoint... no charges laid *obviously* and all of his guns were taken for a period of time and he told me that alot of his guns were handled poorly and came back with scratches and dings...

The moral of the story is: Buy something today, you're a law abiding citizen, and you could be a criminal for buying that same thing you bought yesterday, tomorrow.

No...The "Progressive Conservatives" made most of the the AK's, AR's from non-restricted to restricted in 1992-ish. The Liberals won the 1993 election and subsequently turned most all of the newly classed restricted (military style) rifles and made them prohibited in around 1994-95. Being that they had just been made registered by the previous government, there was no way to escape the prohibition of ones' property under the Liberals :(

Yep, the PC lined them up and the liberals finished it. I think kim was really a liberal. The CPC have been our only friends in this game. The liberals plan was really set back with that move.

never heard about that

You know what, your right, 12x owners are getting buried in the shadows, some dealer sites you must request photos, gunshops have them out of sight, owners must hide them in safes. You have to join american sites just to find someone to relate/share facts/history. We need a 12x forum for owners.

No need to bury your heads in the sand.. there are lots of 12(x) members here that will openly share info. The 12(x) EE forum is fairly active as well and the 12(x) firearms already fall under the existing firearm categories. It's just a s easy to drum up a conversation / discussion by creating a new thread in the appropriate forum.

They would have banned the AR had the DCRA guys (along with many others) not raised a stink about the sporting use, Canadian heritage and all that jazz. The AK is a very nice platform. A high end toy will be SOLIDLY built, at least as good as anything made by CZ/CSA and they have a huge aftermarket support, which easily outstrips the VZ platform. At the same time, the cost will be on the par as a low to mid-range AR. I'd gladly shoot matches with an AK even if I lose a few seconds per match.

My friend was born in the former Yugoslavia and his dream rifle was an original Yugo AK (M-70). Original M-70's are known as probably the best AK ever made. He tried to find a Yugo SKS (also recognized as the best) and couldn't find one. He grew frustrated and just bought a VZ58.

He later realized he'd never own an M-70 and most likely, not a Yugo SKS either.

Unfortunately yes.

got any idea what part is the receiver as a receiver for the AK has 3 parts is it one of the trunnions or the bent piece of sheet metal in my idea of a hybrid pump I need the front trunion(it has the locking lug recesses for the bolt) the bolt/carrier and the barrel(I could use just about any barrel that's .311" but I don't have a lathe) a drop in AR trigger group and other random parts from other guns
