My buddy down the block has a Cerakote system and has been using my guns to practice on.

I just bought this chinese type 54 off a CGN member.

It had the usual crap finish on it. So I scrubbed it all down and buddy did his magic
semi gloss black.

Time & product wasted.....but it looks dam good ! LOL

Who sells cerakote in Canada?

He orders all his stuff on line. I'll ask him.
He has a small portable oven he brings over and 2 old stoves put together in his garage. he does all sorts of stuff.
Been watching him...doesnt look that complicated. Basic acetone to clean the metal. It doesnt take much heat. Before he got the ovens , he used a Heat gun from princes auto....LOL it worked.

The gun wasnt sandblasted. I just sanded it with 220 dry then 400 wet then the wire wheel on the bench grinder.
The Cerakote is excellent at hiding all imperfections. I dont know if thats the proper method...but boy does this stuff stick !!
You cant scratch it either.
I sanded & polished the barrel bushing, ..the barrel..the clip & slide release for a little BLING
Fun with a cheap gun.
