I bought an anscutz 1771 g-tac in .223 rem from another CGNer a while back. Due to time constraints I've never gotten around to using it but I hope to this year for varmints and target shooting.
I am debating sending it over to Black Box Customs for a cerakote job as I'm sending them another barreled action anyway. I've had them do work before and it was top notch. I have no doubt they will do great job again.
The chassis is already cerakoted from the factory but the barrelled action is blued. The bluing seems to be of good quality.
Is it madness to have it cerakoted ? If it had a walnut stock I would not even consider it, but given it's already a chassis rifle ? I don't plan on selling it so I'm not concerned about the resell value taking a hit. I'd like to increase it's durability as I'll actually be using it outdoors. Just debating whether or not cerakoting it is missing the point of the design.
