Cerakote for my Tavor

Hey Guys,

I have friend who has started to do Cerakoting and does great work and I am going to get my Tavor done but I can't decide what to do, I had a Glock 19 done in Burnt Bronze and I think it looks great, just can't decide if that is the right colour for the Tavor or if I should go two tone, anyone have any thoughts on what might look good.

Private setup for now but I think he is testing the waters with friends and then might open things up later.

Some of it is. The most durable finishes are baked. But anyone with an oven can do that if they can control temperature well enough. The trick and cost is all in the prep. Depending on the material, different blasting media may be required.

Yes parts are dissembled, cleaned then sand blasted then cleaned again, sprayed and cured in an industrial oven.

Whats the oven temp? Im kinda surprised people are throwing their polymer guns into ovens lol but I guess the material is resistant to whatever amount of heat its being put into for baking the coat.

There are some versions of CeraKote that do no require heat for polymer applications.

He is only using the oven cure type at this point, so for polymer you just bake at a lower temp for longer.

Thank you Skoal, nice looking shotgun, I thing I am going to go with the Burnt Bronze and Tungsten in the end, now I just have to strip my Tavor and remember how to put it all back together.

For polymer bake it at 150-180F for 2 hours, Metal 250F for 2 hours
