Recently sent my xbolt barrel out for cerakoting (don't have it back yet). Internal debate going on that I may have messed up as the clearances with xbolt's floating barrel won't allow for this. Any opinions or experience out there...did I miss a step in my research?

Depending on the applicator, Cerakote should be applied to a 1 mil thickness, so it shouldn't be an issue, unless the applicator were to go "heavy" in those specific areas?

Thanks boys. I see Browning sells xbolts with factory applied cerakote but wasn't sure if they do anything different with those stocks. Was worried I messed up.

A floating barrel should have at least the clearance of a business card or more... painting a barrel does not add much thickness...

It may affect fit if they coat your recoil lug...Blackbox in Calgary coated mine on two custom rifles and now they won’t fit back in my bedded stocks.

I’ll be sanding the coating off the lugs, hopefully that should fix the issue.
