Cerakote rattle can?

They sell a 24 color starter kit, you pick the colors. I order direct from NIC website, then pay another 60 or so to pick it up at UPS. A sample bottle will do a couple rifles. It's the spray and bake, you need a blast cabinet with aluminum oxide to prep properly. Wear a proper respirator and have good ventilation, the stuff is potent!

Last time I checked it said they had a deal with UPS for flat $20 brokerage. Still sucks but better than $60 for sure.

Never used Cera but I doubt it's very much different than Arma except for the hassle of getting it over the border.

i use 80 grit aluminium oxide for cerecote. arround 80 psi and it works well. so far i have only used one colour grafite black. it covers very well and is quite thin so there is no clearance issues. i have a dunk tank of acetone to degrease with. to test durabilty i used a brass case that i used to block the chamber. the end of the case got cerakoted. a week later i left the case soaking in acetone for a couple of hours. it never even softened the coating. nice product to use.

There most certainly are clearance issues depending on the action. It may be okay on a sloppy Remington etc but on a tight tolerance action keep it out of the action and off the bolt. Just spent half a day fighting this battle. Especially bad with a rem type trigger which wedges the bolt to the top of the action, sticky stuff in the wrong place.

i have only tried remington, abolt and t3;s. they seem loose enough not to cause issues. rems i did the bolt and action without a problem.
