Certificate of Registration requirement question

Hi all,
so the transfer is complete on my CZ and it was delivered via good old Canada Post today. I applied for, and received via email, a short term ATT just in case no one was home today and I had to go to the Post Office to pick it up. They also sent me my Notice of Transfer with my Registration Certificate number on it which states my Registration Certificate will be mailed.

Conditions on my Long Term ATT and on the Short term ATT state that I must have the Certificate of Registration with me when I transport the gun (and the CFSC restricted course teaches you this also).

My question is this: Do I have to wait for the actual Certificate of Registration to show up in the mail before I can go to the range with my new gun or will it be OK if I just have my notice of transfer with me with the Registration Certificate number on it? I'm kind of anxious to go to the range, can you tell?!


I find it kind of funny that the short term states that you must have the certificate, but the transfer notice states that the certificate will be mailed, but you can take possession of the gun and must have an ATT to transport it home, but the ATT says you have to have the certificate...huh?!
 
Just read what it says on your ltatt. Twice now I have stood in the BC CFO office and asked this question, in both cases the answer was unequivocally, NO!!,you must have the actual certificate in your possession. I know it's stupidity but, that's the CFO position. There are lots on here that will argue otherwise but that's just wishful thinking on their part.
STATTs permit you to transport without physical possession of the reg cert----usually just to get the firearm home

Yup, after waiting weeks and weeks for the transfer to get approved, receiving the registration certificate in the mail is just one more thing to wait for. It takes another 1-2 weeks when all I want to do is go to the range with my new toy(s). The only solution I've found so far is just to keep buying more so I always have something to play with.
 
One of the most surprising things i am learning about gun ownership in canada....is that there is a lot of waiting...... LIKE A LOT!
I cant help but wonder how all the waiting affects how we acquire and use our guns? I know that all the sitting around waiting for my pal/r-pal has given me ample time to learn as much as i can about various shooting sports. Initially i was just looking to get a hand gun for some target shooting, however in the last 4 months (starting with finding a cfsc instructor) i have become so much more knowledgable in the many possibilities that we have as gun owners.... Long story short, now there is an AR15 build on my list of "must haves."
All that being said, with all the waiting around..... i havent been able to save enough money for all the stuff i want......lol

LOTS OF WAIT TIME for sure lol! But also alot of time for spending your money or planning your purchases lol!
Nice to see a fellow NCR member, have you joined a shooting club yet?

lol, no im still looking into a few options. The RA center is by far the closest, but i dont think they allow rifles there. I wish i could afford a membership at more than one spot, however thats just not in the books right now. I suspect the eosc in Limoges is the best fit, but its also about 45min from my house. How about you? been shooting long?

I shoot at the RA, they do allow riffle but only .22, i shoot only handguns but was maybe thinking of joining EOSC this summer, just got my Rpal but been a member since sept 2012 so still a novice as well :)
