CF 98 (Not the medical form)

i dont know what impresses me more, the fact that it isnt a copy of something or the fact that it looks like a pretty good quality pistol...

I doubt barrel life is short, if theres one thing china does right its steel

get me one in 7.62 tok so I can shoot it real cheap and you have a customer!

So I got it out to the range today where Repete was also able to also put a few mags through it. Hopefully he'll chime in with his thoughts as well.
The trigger is actually quite smooth. The double action take-up is a bit heavy for my liking, but I'm not much of a double action fan to begin with. Probably due to the very lightweight grip portion (the composite feels like it's made from the same composites in my Type 97A) but it has a bit more snap to it when firing than I'm used to.
An funny note is that my wife (extremely limited shooting experience, especially with pistols) shot better with it than with my Sig 226.
One negative that came up though concerns the mag platforms. No feeding issues, but when loading the mags the platforms on both need to be slightly pushed in to get the second round loaded. It's the part of the platform that is bottom right in the top photo:

I have to say that overall, I'm quite impressed with this pistol. I wasn't expecting too much when I ordered it, but (like I was when I saw my Type 97A) I am quite impressed with what the Chinese arsenals are putting out now.

The only thing that turned me off about these were reports of rather sh*tty barrel life. I'd jump on this gun in an instant if somebody could verify they'll last longer than 2000 rounds.

Also, where can one get that rail attachment? I think it makes the gun look 1000x better. :p
CF-98 pistol's barrel life is 8,000 rounds.i think it can handle more rounds than 8,000 coz barrel bore is chrome lined.

After much delay, here are the results from last weekend's shoot. Reaper, Starlight, and myself were out. The opinions were all positive, as they have been with everyone else who has fired the Cf98. The most common comment is that the quality surprises many who are used to the other Norc guns. Anyways, here are a couple target pics. Targets shot from approx 10m with the American Eagle 147gr TMJ from SFRC. The first was my 3 round group with a 9mm round held up for comparison:

This is the same target with a second shooter's 10 round mag added in:

I seriously believe that if there were more available accessories (holsters, etc) and more shooters gave this gun a chance they would be very popular.
On the issue of purchasing additional mags, I'm still waiting for Lever's reply to the e-mail I sent this past week.

Anyways, if anyone wants any more pics of the gun let me know what.
