CFB Petawawa CQB Clinic 27-28 June 2015 - Debrief here! Pics up!

Ah yes, just received my new shift calendar for the summer. We are gonna have fun on the weekend of 27-28 Jun! I am really looking forward to being with you guys up in Petawawa's Echo Range. We have a great community!

Cheers and keep on helping them nooobs out there!

Barney

Heyo, Ill be there with my TAVOR sans handgun though still working out the ATT BS since that whole CFO PTSD stupid incident. Knee surgery recovery is going better then expected so I wont have any issues.

Just had a "dress rehearsal" at the range this afternoon. IDPA holster + mag pouches (SIG P226) on belt is not ideal, but will have to do for now. I could rush out and buy something, but think it would be better to wait for the "gear selection, gear manipulation, gear evolution" part of the clinic, + see what others are using and check out some different ideas etc... But if you have some molle double mag pouches and a holster you want to sell let me know.

Also am going to have to figure a better way to sling my M4, when I tried transitioning to my pistol this aft single point slung hot rifle barrel on bare legs was annoying.

Otherwise ready to go I think.

If you are Still taking names, please add me to your list. Really would love to learn (I am a newby). Summer, fall does not matter, interested in any Cqb clinic (specially if you do some thing at Borden).
Thanx amlot

Funny you should ask that question. I've just posted (a week ago) an announcement (down below in my dealer forum) for the 05-06 Sep 2015 CQB Clinic that will duplicate this one. We have lots and lots of demand for these clinics so my calendar opened up for this date on the Labor Day weekend.

Go and have a look.... 05-06 Sep CQB in CFB Petawawa.

That help?

Cheers,
Barney

Looking forward to meeting all of you this weekend.
Thought I'd share this here in case anyone would want it for the class , I'm putting up a Aimpoint H1 with 2moa dot up on the EE. Comes with a Daniel Defense mount. Mint condition.

Do you have anymore room in this clinic now?

I have closed off any new entries to the Sat/Sunday clinic on 27-28 June 2015 since we have a full slate. I have nobody on the standby list right now. I also have lots of space on 05-06 Sep 2015 clinic at Echo Range in Petawawa if that can work for you. :)

Now about this weekend, I'm packing my truck with the CQB kit since I have to depart from work at the Mountain Coaster and head to Petawawa....

Regarding LUNCH on both days at Echo Range, you must bring your own lunch of sandwiches and snacks and drinks and beef jerky and more sandwiches and foot longs and schwarma wraps. The drive into town from Echo Range is a pain in the butt and you will run out of time.

SO BRING yer Lunch and spare food for others who did not happen to catch this message!

Thanks a bunch!

See you all on Saturday morning across from the fire hall...

The Subway opens at 8:00 on Saturday but 9:00 on Sunday morning so Timmies is a better option for Sunday.
Don't do like we did last time and end up buying gas station sandwiches.

Thumprrr, you guys sure amp up the funny factor with your gas station sandwiches. :)

I just pull into Timmy's and grab a BLT bagel or any other bagel. Keep lots of beef jerky handy! At least you CAN survive on beef jerky all day long, and it's easily found in any convenience store!

Dress for rain on Sunday. Remember that this is Service Conditions and not bench rest (covered benches and other comforts) at my gun club! :) It's going to be shot rain or shine. Notice I did not say "Lightning"....

The adverse conditions are an excellent test of your choice of gear. Nothing wrong with that or those conditions.

Heading off to work and then hitting the road to Petawawa at 1700ish. Will be arriving in Petawawa for 2200 hrs.

See you guys tomorrow across from the Fire Hall on base.

Cheers,

Heading out from Hamilton in about an hour...see everyone tomorrow...looking forward to meeting you all and having a blast. Anybody staying at Black Bear, feel free to drop by site 112...cheers!

Last time I was at Petawawa for the Garand clinic I ate breakfast at the mess hall. It was close fast and convenient, any reason why we could not grab lunch there?

The range is quite a drive from the more civilized areas of the base. I would strongly suggest getting grub before arriving. Even though it countermands a Barney directive I am not good at sharing my food. Speaking of food Montana's in Ottawa is good.
