CFB Petawawa PR Match 2 - 17-18 Oct 2015 - Debrief Here - Results UP

Home at 2300 hours. Safe drive through the park. Uneventful drive along Hwy 60 to Huntsville and down Hwy 11 home.
What an awesome learning weekend and a great opportunity to meet more CGNutz on the ranges of Base Petawawa. Gotta crash tonight but will post lots of gratitude tomorrow.

Right now:

Thanks to Breanna for her diligent sentry work.
Thanks to my talented butts officers who gave a solid target delivery program. Without steady and reliable target presentation the match would end up being a shzt show. :)

Thanks to my statistics helpers
Thanks to my scorecard assistants Nick and Rick.
Thanks to Morgan for all his dedicated support

Gotta crash now and nurse this cold before moose camp tomorrow

Cheers, Barney

Well, winter just arrived.

Yet again another excellent Barney clinic! It was great to see familiar faces as well as a lot of new ones. This was my first cold weather shoot. A little colder than I had anticipated so a few upgrades are in order to my apparel.

Im starting in got sound like a broken record but a huge thanks has to go to Barney. Over the years he has built a tremendous community at Petawawa. It speaks volumes that every Saturday night everyone gatherers at Dany's for a great meal and great conversation. It's truly a great environment to learn and compete in a cooperative environment.

Morgan, as always, with out your efforts the whole thing would not be possible. Thank you.

Steve & Nick, thanks for your efforts with scoring and running the buts. HaHa I said running buts!

CFB Petawawa range control deserves thanks for letting us play in their sand box.

As a civilian, I would like thank all the Canadian Forces members that come out to shoot with us. It's privilege to hear your stories and experiences.

Unfortunately, I won't be able to attend next weeks CQB so this was probably the last clinic of 2015 for me. Now we just have to survive another long cold, depressing winter and look froward to the 2016 season.

Packing for moose camp now. Gotta keep moving and repacking the Tacoma.

Big shout out to Wolverine Supplies and Grumpy wolverine for his support of our matches on Bravo Range, Base Petawawa!

Here are the results:

First Place: GregG and PeterM

Second Place: MorganM and ChrisW

Third Place: ArielH and Andrei

Winner of Knife draw (Wolverine Supplies pocket knife) : AlexLLB (or something like that)

Winner of Survival Tool (TT supplied) : ArielH

Glad you guys love them Barrett Posters, Barrett Stickers and AIA 10 round Elander magazines

Thanks for all your community building efforts, chalkriver! You are the best!

Gotta head out to moose camp and I'll be back for CQB on 24-25 October! :)

Cheers,

Barney

Thanks to Barney, Morgan and the others for a great weekend. I'm too used to SR and CQB matches so I was my own shooting mat. It was great laying in the mud:d. With my rain gear outer I stayed dry. The M14 clone sure isn't a precision rifle but that was the farthest I have ever shot before this weekend. It was what I went there for and definitely worth the drive.
The most difficult match of any shooting discipline you decide to shoot is the first one you shoot of that discipline. The next ones will get easier.

Many thanks to all who made the event possible - Barney, Morgan, Breanna and Nick. A great way for a newbie to get their feet wet in the precision rifle competition world. Took many notes and learned a lot of important lessons.

Met so many great guys and had a great time. I'll be back for sure (with a much warmer jacket).

I finally got a minute to myself so I'd like to thank Barney, Morgan, Breanna, and everyone else who keep making these weekends possible.

I'd also like to thank my shooting partner Greg for a strong showing in the early stages where I faltered.

It's great to see that a bunch of us can get together and have a lot of fun while competing.

I too must upgrade my clothing for the colder weather.

Another great weekend braving the Petawawa conditions with some great shooter! As has been mentioned, many thanks to everyone who made this happen, especially Morgan (1st place next time?), and Barney who always keeps things light, and brings enough toys to make my Visa quiver...lol. Also, great pics Rickster!

Will be making some equipment upgrades over the winter and looking forward to shooting with the gang again in the new year. All the best!

As always Barney you ran a fun and very informative clinic and you endured a cold and the cold weather on top of it all...Thanks again !!!
It was a real good time and nice to see some of the regulars again and I enjoyed meeting some new shooters to Petawawa .
Thanks as well guys for help cleaning up at the end of the shoot ...
Hope to see you all again in Petawawa soon ....we have weekend shoots and visitors are welcome.

Chris I have to apologize for being a bonehead at the 600...you were telling me hold left edge....but noooooo I gotta go for the turrets .....and turn them the wrong way ...shoot ....dammm....turn them again the wrong way shoot ....bigger dammmm ...lol. Thank god you noticed and stopped me as I was out of control ...lol
I held up my half of the team at the start though.....next year buddy !!
I mounted my rifle in my new Cadex stock :rockOn: and I was checking the scope alignment like you told me how to and it was canted in the rings after all.

Excellent pics Rickster ....Thanks !!

we'll figure this out eventually Morgan! Hopefully the third time is the charm! I was just relieved that you didn't switch from Match to Bulk loads halfway through the agony snap again! lol

Was a great weekend despite the snow, and very nice to see everyone again and make some new friends too!

Thanks to all that helped organise and host the match!

As always it was a great weekend I Petawawa. Thanks again to Barney and Morgan for all the hard work put into getting these together. It is always a pleasure to shoot (and eat prime rib) with the crew up there!

If anyone want the match specific data pages send me an email I I will get them to you.

A few of the guys had very detailed environmental data, would you guys be so kind as to post it for both days.

Cheers

Woo-Ho!!

Fab weekend gang! Looks like that the Closet Commando team was not the only boneheads in the group. Yes - one of our very own adjusted the turrets the wrong way (Yoda good going man) LMAO. As for me, I figured it was a smart idea to do some final adjustments on Saturday night but what I ended up doing was losing my ZERO!!!! AHHHH!!!!

Now the funny thing was Rickster did something similar and ended up losing his zero too!!! LMAO!!!

Well, we learned a few thing or two!

Barney, Morgan, Breanna thanks a ton for all your hard work. Job well done and I salute you all!

We can not forget Wolverine for supporting our event with fab swag!!!! Yes I totally love the stuff I got! Woo-Ho!

Ah - The M14 clone team kicked @ss!!!! Now that we know what to do watch out 2016!

It was a blast meeting new faces and see old ones, lets do it all again in 2016!!!

Barney, thanks for the instruction. It was an eye-opener.

James, thanks for being a buddy during the weekend.
