i completed a pistol transfer over a month ago and its still with the cfc! even after multiple phone calls. anyone else having this problem? they say they are just busy. when im too busy at work, know what i do? hire someone else!

Usually it's not the CFC, but the CFO that sits on it for weeks in the case of private transfers. The CFC processes things quite quickly.

I just got a handgun this week..... that I was waiting on for over a month. I tried talking to the CFO on several occasions, with no dice. Must have been at Timmies. I also had some other staffer at the CFC tell me incorrect info, but I don't even want to go there.

ya our fine tax dollars at work. in alberta i wrote both firearms exams without having a course. but when i took the hunters safety course in ontario, they made me take the firearms course, and pay for it before they gave me the liscence. taking a little isnt a big deal. but when you take a little from everyone, it starts to add up. maybe use the money to hire another lazy desker to review files and shove paper into envelopes?

Send a friendly email to the RCMP-CFC (including your name, PAL# and transaction reference #)... and simply ask them what is causing the delays...

It is my inderstanding that as much as some bureaucrat like to brush you off on the phone, they really hate giving answers in writing and will do just about anything to avoid doing so (even iron-out the bumps that were slowing down your transfer)

...

yeah i dealt with a real quality individual (sarcasm) on my latest transfer. I had a restricted transfer take about a month from a dealer when my previous private restricted transfer took a week. Then they refused to fax a copy of the registration because "i just have to wait". I've also had them question all sorts off irrelevant information on a slew of non restricted transfers (dads guns) as well as some ATT incompetance (gave me 3 separate ATT numbers during my move then canceled them weeks before i got the message). I'm wondering if they have new staff because they used to be great. Lately they suck donkey dong.

I have been calling the CFC since late May to see if a transfer was approved so I could ship the pistol. Transfer started on May 14th...... Finally approved today. Called my local CFO and got the TATT to take it to the post office today.

My record time for an ATT is 37 minuets from purchase to pick-up (local sale from a dealer).....

If you don't count the guy who wouldn't ship the firearm because he didn't have the paperwork from the CFC yet...... This current transfer has been the longest to date!

Cheers!
