So I have a rifle that doesn’t like my usual recipe of H4350… so I was looking at other powders I own and burn rate chart and looks
Like CFE223 could work so off I went on the interweb and looked for some reports… but only found load data/reports for 250gn bullets!
Anyone here using it with success with 286gn or even 270gn?

I have not tried it (yet), but BL-C(2) loads would serve as a good indicator of where to start as they are close to reach other in Burn Rate and Density and are both spherical (ball) powders.

I have found that powders in the 4350-Re17 Burn Rate range are about ideal in the 9.3X62 with 286 gr bullets as far as load density, pressure and MV are concerned. My personal favourite is Re17.

For that I would look at other cartridges in that group and see if they also have a cut-off weight where a specific powder isn't suggested
Then that says its not a best one to work with. Some other powders do that, suggested only for light-for-caliber or only for heavy-for-caliber

My other 9.3x62 loves H4350 with 286gn Aframe, but this one seems to be picky even though I had a good node at 65-66gn so I went 65.5 but it ain’t doing any good… the previous owner will load some rounds with the recipe that worked for him just to figure out if it is something else than powder… the rifle is bedded, the screws are torqued, the scope is in a claw mount and is solid!
Time will tell!

I haven't tried CFE223, but I have experimented with Lever Evolution, which has a similar burn rate.

I would try a start load of 59-60 gr, and finish off at 62-63gr. This is assuming you're loading for a modern action like a Mauser 98. The pressures will be right up there at .270/7RM levels. My rifle is a Husqvarna with a long throat, so that makes a difference too.

Thank you, I will try that! It is a Husqvarna m98. I also bought 2lbs of Varget and a pound of big game today at our LGS so I have a few more options !

Yup - max load with RL15: .5 moa in my Tikka T3 and CZ carbine ... my go to load Moose guns.

Max load IMR4320 for Nosler 250 ABs.

Both powders I have and will last me, but seem kinda hard to find.

RL15.5 powder could work as well. That is available.
