So I called the CFO at 4:35 local time. Got transferred to the BC CFO office a few minutes later. Got an automated message - They are closed!

Why the heck is the BC CFO closed before 5pm? And why the hell was I transferred there if they are closed!?

I called the 1-800 number again, and explain what happened, and the lady is like Yupp. They closed about 10 minutes ago. Very matter-of-fact. Didn't try to tell me I'll have to call back tomorrow or anything. Just Yeah, they closed 10 minutes ago. If this girl is so damn aware they are closed, why the hell is her coworker transferring me!?

After everyone talking about how nice the CFO people are on the phone, I was very disappointed with this experience. Now I'll have to call back tomorrow to try and get this sorted out.

On a side note, anyone with a membership at PoCo happen to know what they want for "proof of membership"? Just the membership number, or will they want to see the whole application form? Or my interim member card?

They are government workers, likely only work 8-4:30.

Hours of Operation: Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm nationwide, for national contact number.

Cannot find hours for the BC one anywhere, do they have a direct phone number? The lady said they are open at 8:30am... but the national number isn't open until 9, so without a direct number I would have to wait til 9...

Oh, can I just drop into the office and get them to print my ATT and registration on the spot? Its not too far from me, and I have to basically drive past it tomorrow anyways...

You can get the ATT, but the registration comes from a different office and can only be mailed. Really. Considering it is only paper baffles me why they can't email it to you as well.

Do I need to wait for said registration to come in the mail to transport the firearm?

I'm going through the same thing right now. I'm in BC waiting on the registry. I called Monday and they said it would be 10-14 days before I received the paper in the mail from Ottawa. According to the guy at the registry I need to wait until I have the paper in hand before I can call the CFO for the TATT

The registry isn't part of the CFO. I was able to speak with the registry because the CFO lady patched me through. I'd been waiting 2 weeks already so I don't know if that's something they normally do. Apparently it's common to hear next day for transfers. I had the misfortune to have a hiccup. I'm surprised that your having troubles if you bought new from a dealer

They just emailed me mine last week. Emailed my Registration, STATT, and then my LTATT yesterday. You just need to ask. They always told me that the BC office was 4:30pm, been able to call them under the wire twice now.

Here in NB they will only mail STATT and LATTs. I asked them to email a STATT so I could take a gun to the post office to ship it they said they don't do that.

They told me it would take 48hrs to process and then they would mail it.

I said screw it I'm going to ship it CanPar instead.

NB CFO office is idiotic.

Best time to call BC CFO is first thing in the morning at 8:30. I've had to call them several times now for STATT and when I call in afternoon I'm only hold for 15-30 minutes. If I call first thing in the morning, the longest wait I've had is 2 minutes

Really?! I specifically asked about email and the registry guy said it had to be mailed and they only do mail on Thursdays. The CFO lady was really nice and informative. The registry guy seemed to have a stick lodged somewhere:rolleyes:

Never heard anyone get a reg emailed before. Are you sure it wasn't your buyers transfer notification with the reg number on it? That's different than the actual certificate.
