CGN AR Lower Project

Well Troops the poll results have about 120 people interested in the CGN lower, about 120 replies and over 3000 views. So where do we go from here?

Since the CGN logo is owned by Greentips I will delegate the responsibility of the logo confirmation and the overall project approval to him.

With respect to the lower and manufacturing/production. I'm hoping that a dealer/sponsor will come forward with the willingness to get involved with this project, and do it because they want to, and not just for the 'business"

That said after seeing some of the results from the Lightfighter group buy, I think that some "ground" rules should be laid out.

If we get the go ahead from the site admin, and a dealer on board, we should expect that there be a minimum # of lowers purchased to make it "worth everyone while"

In fairness to the "dealer" once the # is established, the lowers should be pre paid. Once the minimum # is reached, and a grace period has been given for last minute buyers, the order is sent. If one or more dealers want to offer parts etc thats fine. The more the merrier. That said given the type of folks on the site, I trust that this should go off without a hitch?

I'm really attracted to the idea of a CGN lower, I spend a fair amount of time on the site and the people I have dealt with and encountered over the years have been "bang on".

So in closing I know these things can turn into "nightmares" but I trust that everyone will put there best foot froward and come together to "get'er done".

If any troops want to add or make suggestions feel free to "chime in"
Dealers let me/us know if you want to get involved with this project?
I had thought that KPA may have been a good starting place but I'm not sure they will be "up and running" to complete the order?

Once again we all know that a "team" effort is required on this to make it happen. Lets try to use the KISS principal for the lower design.Cheers

Here's your problem you have 120 people interested in what? There have been 8 or 10 designs discussed and I don't you will have 120 people sign on to any one idea....

I'm gonna suggest another poll with the different versions.... I personally don't want the HK selector pictograms If I wanted an HK I'd buy an HK but this is an AR (0 German influence) however if majority rules in the decision I would have to buy in or not....


The other thing you are without are how many people can afford you've only asked how many are interested...

Last get your money up front because too many folks have a history of backing out...
 
Well I know that there will be some cynic's out there, but I am also counting on the majority of folks who feel like me.

Cool! Great idea! We have to narrow it down. So far the majority of people seem to like 1.7 but suggest to make it with a full maple leaf. I'll do it as the 1.8.

We need all the ones (120+) interested in the lower to put in their votes for the poll to mean something. Maybe we could arrange one design so that it would please all to some level.

Personnaly 1.7 is not my favorite, but I'm really in for the following reason : having a limited edition CNG custom lower that symbolizes my membership to that unique wonderful group of gun lovers.

I have to like the lower, but even if I don't like 100% of the lower's design, I'm still in.

Will this be a full lower? Stock and all?
 
Going out on a limb here. Since 1.6 and 1.7 (1.8) seem to be most popular, among the 50% who voted, I've combined 1.6 and 1.8 to create a version 1.9. Also some expressed the desire to have a "restriction" engraving. Don't know if it would be feasible, but we could have our user name engraved (as some proposed) on the right side under the restriction notice.

I'm of the opposite opinion the HK crap has gotta go.. This is an AR not EURO trash and if I need pictures I shouldn't be touching the thing...

However I can live with a combo.... The individual user name stuff I don't think will happen as the cost would be really prohibitive and it will also eliminate resale value. I personally have no use for it..
