CGN H-S Precision club

I got the 700p 6.8 spc with the H-S stock, capped it of with leupold mounts and a weaver T36 scope. I have been cracking shots right out to five hundred meters. First mod was a 2 ounce jewel trigger though, factory pull was 5.7 pounds

I have a Pro Series 2000 HTR in a .308 and really like it. I only have about 400 rounds through it but mostly at the 700 yard target and it seems to do quite well. I seem to be having issues posting pictures, sorry....

I have the same rifle and it is a one holer, afaic, H-S barrels are outstanding. The only thing I didn't like about the rifle was the swivel studs were loose and the 2 @ the front not far enough apart to mount both the bipod and the sling.

I ordered an HS RDR (adj. thumbhole stock) in .308 last Feb. and it just arrived. Beautiful gun, however I was very surprised to see that the price went up about $700 from last winter. So I left the gun at the store. Im not sure if I want to spend that kinda money. Do you HS owners think there worth it? Or should I just go build up another Remmy for half the Price?

Heres mine
HS Pro 2000 Varmint, LH, 338 RUM, 28" Barrel, Muzzle Brake, 3 colour Desert Camo, Badger Rings and Base, Leupold 4.5-14x50 LR Tactical. It shoots .700 fire forming brass.

Very happy to own an STR in 308. Have not made it to range yet but i fully expect to be smiling with every squeze of the trigger. I also own several HS stocks and have been very happy with them after a little a bit of bedding.
I had ordered an HS in the past and after three years and multiple calls to HS I finally gave up on ever getting it.

bwall,
I have a STR in 308 and it shoots much better than me. It averages around 1/2 moa with Federal 168 gr GMM, sometimes better sometimes not. I also have a H-S HTR in 308 and that shoots even better. I am the weak link with these rifles. You shouldn't be dissapointed.

I have the new H-S STR .308 in my sights, I would prefer it to be barrelled 22'' instead of 20'' & in .260 rem if available but .308 would do.

Does anyone know if they still make 10rd mag for them?

Howdy EC
Do you find that you have to cant your head over the adj. cheek to get a full view through the scope the STR.

bwall,
Not at all, the stock is of a smaller profile than the HTR however being it is adjustable for height and length of pull if you play around with it you should be able to get it just right.

There is also it's little Brother...My Remington 700P in 6.8 Rem SPC. It has the same rings and Base as it's bigger Brother, but is topped with a Burris TAC II 4.5-14x40. It's my first Burris scope and I am very happy with it for the money I think is better then my Bushnell 4200 I had on my Savage F.

I have one

Mine caliber is at the other end of the spectrum, but a is still a great shooting rifle.
Mine is in a pure white stock, with a thumbhole, varmint 204 Ruger. Fluted Heavy barrel. The scope I have on top in the Nikon Monarch 5-20
I have tried all of the factory offerings and puts them all with the exception of the Federal load in 39gr Sierra into one hole at 100 meters.
I have hand loaded the 40gr Nosler ballistic tip with Varget powder to produce a very accurate round.
I have only ever shot it further than 100 meters once and they didn't all go in the same hole, have to try it at 300 when the snow starts to melt. FS
