Would anybody be interested in a thread that shares your documented loads for your rifles, and their results? I have a handful of calibers with a handful of loads, and fairly detailed results for most. I was thinking about sharing them, and having others do the same.

A chart could be made and updated with information, in a form somewhat like this:

| Username | Caliber | Bullet brand | Bullet weight | Powder | Powder Charge | O.A.L | Gun model (and barrel length) | Velocity | Group size | Weather conditions

Of course all data would be a use at your own discretion, no liability blah blah blah.

I would be .. It would be better to have a one stop shop than searching through 20 someodd posts to find load data. For AR's they would have to be broken donw into barrel lengths.

Yes, and beyond 'using at your own discretion' I think it should be in a private forum - like the EE is locked until you get permission. That way there would be a disclaimer that everyone would have to agree to before they gain access to the data. Saves issues, especially from non-members doing a google search and ending up miss interpreting data.

I guess the threads would have to be broken down by caliber to keep things easy to find.

There would also need to be an accepted format for submitting data as you suggested, to keep things uniform.

Could be a lot of work for the moderators if someone has to go to every new post and copy/paste the data to the initial post. Unless it just ends up being a free-for-all... then it'll just be a mess of information, a thread many pages long of posts, double-posts and opinions of each.

Good idea... it just needs to be approached from the right angle.

How about Google Docs.

If you can password protect the document, everyone can enter their data if someone sets up the caliber pages.

Would not have to page every cartridge as everyone can input their cartridge and load data.

Not really familiar with the system, but maybe someone who does can say whether it's feasible or not.

This is a good idea now proven loads could be use by shooter saving them a lot of load devellopement... JP.

Outfit called AmmoGuide provides this service along with a lot of other handy stuff. If the $18 or so they charge annually isn't worth it to you than you probably wouldn't use it much here either. "Not touting for them,, just sayin".

BTW if you're a "Loaddata" user, check out AmmoGuide. they're a cheaper and superior service.

A google spreadsheet document could work well I think, with users being allowed to update the document themselves.

Also, if an easy to use spreadsheet type template is used it wouldn't be that much work to update the data, even for one or two guys.

The private forum is a great idea as well.

I'm definitely amenable to that idea!
It would give a source that is handy and you could contact the poster if you needed any additional info.

Alright, I will get started on the brainstorming, I'm a little busy with home reno's at the moment but I will see what I can dig up for a layout/format. Then we'll worry about getting a privileged access sub-forum, if possible. Suggestions and help are always welcome :)
