I have just ordered my CF special edition Para and was wondering because of public interest if anyone has looked at getting a CGN engraved Para. The pricepoint would probably be different than the service appreciation for the CF but from what I heard it only takes 32 orders to get custom engraving so there may be interest out there for it.
Just a random-crazy thought?

Maybe it would be interesting to have it tied in to the Gun Rights Model

I have had some talk with Para about sponsorship at CGN.

In a nutshell, they are not welling to invest any money in the local Canadian market becasue they don't think the cdn civilian market makes money for them.

Doesnt surprise me because the Canadian market is too small for them or any other volume gun manufacturer to make a serious commitment.

However if enough CGN'ers request a commemorative stamp it could change. Get some prices from them and see what the interest here is and take it from there.

Seems Para never interesting to support our Canadian shooting sport?

Para is sponsoring the IPSC Nationals in Lethbridge at the end of the month and they are also sponsoring the Canadian Forces Small Arms Competition (CFSAC) in September.

Paraord is a good canadian company that supports the shooting sports, whenever asked it seems they are willing to donate.

maybe there move south has somethign to do with us.gov contracts... as I seem to recall a percentage of the production must have US support and manufacturing...

This is a great idea. Both Para and CGN would get some nice advertising.

If you guys want to go for it, I don't see a problem with the project. Just let us know if it happens - and if graphics file is needed.

"Donating makes them appear to be good corporate citizens and is a cheap alternative to establishing an expensive Canadian dealer network."

I know of no firearms company with a "dealer network: either here or in the US. Not a feature of this industry. Why not except their support for what it is. Para like others in the industry support the shooting sports because they see value in it, knowing a healthy shooting sports arena gives them a venue for their products to be sold.

In the case of the Military offering they have nothing to gain other than good will by way of saying thanks to the men and women who serve and who do protect our country.

Take Care

I can see the headlines now...

Not knocking them, but you do realize they DO have something to gain, right? Offloading a bunch of stock is not something to gain? Did you really think they are selling these below cost and taking a loss?

I just find it funny how some people spin things... Selling someone a gun isn't really much of a thanks. A free gun would be a different story :D
