Nice find Boomer. I'm also looking for a stainless target 10/22. I'd be happy just finding a deal on a plain jane model though. I have to be cheap because I bought my CZ in the fall and it's been in the safe since. It's by far my most expensive rifle and is just for shooting gohers, I think I'm a little nuts.

I've been toying with bringing a table to shoot from though I really don't want to lug it around.

I think I'm going to bring my reloading press but I don't want to spend every evening loading cases. I was thinking of preweighing out the charges and bringing them in little paper packets to save a ton of time. Somehow this does not seem like a good idea though. I'm not sure why.

Yup. I'm all for mobility but it's so tempting to carry 200 pounds of gear and ammo. Unfortunately .204 brass is a little rare so I ended up buying Hornady brass for way too much money and I can't easily get more. Maybe I'll post a wanted ad.

Speaking of mobility I'm looking for some type of vest to hold ammo and water. Last year my fanny pack just wasn't enough. The closest thing I've found so far is a fishing vest but for $50 at Walmart it is a bit too much.

Last year I brought my shooting sticks and I sucked with them. I much preferred my cheapo 8" bipod. I bought a couple Harris 9" models for this year. I found shooting prone to be a ton of fun.

X2 on the brass.
I am bringing one, maybe two center fire rifles. A .22-250, and maybe a heavy barrelled 7MM-08 rem.
The way things are going I will be lucky to have 100 rounds each for them

I am really going to shoot the rim fires. Taking about 2000 rounds for those :D.

Seventy Nine days left!!!

I found shooting the rimfires so much fun. The gophers were literally running over our feet. You could easily empty a mag in seconds getting a kill each time. The convenience of not having to collect your brass was huge. Hopefully I'll have a 10/22 and some high cap mags for the shoot. Those mag loaders are the best invention ever. I hope 2000 rounds of ammo will be enough for you. I'd bring more.

We didn't use our centrefires all that much because of the: noise, brass and carry options. I sure wish I could have carried two rifles at all times. That said, sniping gophers at 200 yards + was a ton of fun even though you get far less kills. I'm glad to see there will be more centrefires this year. We'll set up on a hill and shoot across to the next. Hopefully someone has a range finder. I want to see how far out I can stretch the .204.

The shotgun was also a lot of fun. Sometimes we'd get several gophers with one shot. Shooting them on the run was a blast. Carrying and picking up all those shells was a pain though.

We'll be bringing:
Ruger 10/22 (x2 I hope)
Remington 700 .223
CZ 527 .204
Savage .17HMR
Mossberg 500 12 gauge
HK MP5 and 40 30 round mags

Just kidding on the last one, dammit.

Andrew, you might look into a cart for cowboy action shooting. They carry all your guns, ammo and anything else. Also, why not just stock up on .222 brass. I believe that's what the .204 is made from. Just size it down through your .204 dies, trim to length and your laughing.

I started loading for the .204 tonight. It's a bit of a pain. I crushed a few case necks, over seated more than a few bullets and dropped a few on the floor. Man these pills are tiny. On the plus side I'm using H335 powder and it's very fine and easy to work with.

Pharoah. That cowboy action cart sounds cool but my second though about it makes me think of fat people in electric carts at Walmart. lol. I had actually considered bringing a quad. Then I remember that I'm shooting gophers, not on a $5000 moose hunt. I'd like to find some sort of vest or jacket that will hold several hundred rounds of ammo of any kind. So, something with lots of big pockets. Unfortunately, the shotgun vests have pockets that don't close well. I think I'll have better luck looking at fishing vests.

Hell, bring your quad! I would! Lol!

I was dropping 204 bullets all over the place! Very tiny! Especially the 26 grain varmint grenades! Didn't crush any necks though!

What was your final oal? I seated mine to 2.300 oal

I loaded mine (varmint grenades) to 2.260" over 28.5gr H335 (max load). Tonight I'll follow up with loads decreasing by .5gr.

I have the Lee collet dies and it seems that if the case is not completely straight in the press the bullet or neck can catch halfway up inside the die either crushing the neck or burying the bullet in the neck. Maybe I should buy a tighter shell holder. I can't wait to shoot this thing.

Haven't had that problem with the rcbs dies.

You're using the 26 grain vg's? I started at 26gr of h335 and went up to max. See what shoots best then ladder from there. Gonna play with seating a bit too. I'm also using Remington 7 1/2 primers. Be a couple weeks before I get any range time though!

andrewe, if you still need 204 brass, WSS has some in stock, if you want pm me i can set some aside. i've hit the wall as far as loading goes, i have less then 200 primers on hand and have run out of powder, and both SIR and WSS are out and no idea of when restocking.

Thanks for the offer kevin but I'm already loading Hornady brass and I'm pretty sure that's not what WSS stocks. I'd like to keep it all the same if I can.

I feel your pain on the loading supplies. It's not very often that I go to WSS or SIR and come out with everything I was looking for. I often stock up when they do have what I need. It sure makes me jealous that I can't just go to any website and order what I need.
