Don't forget your cleaning supplies and gun oil. If anyone hasn't shot rats before, you'll shoot alot and you'll probably want to clean your rifles each Night.

Ammo amounts

I haven't hunted that area of Saskatchewan for rats before but I hear it is good. I am hoping to send at least 1000 projectiles downrange over the course of the weekend. It shouldn't be that hard if the population is good.

That's a fairly safe assessment!

I put over 150 rounds of 204 ruger ammo downrange in less than half a day!

I usually hunt rats a couple hours NW of there into Alberta. There seems to be no issue shooting 500 rounds a day there. I was expecting the same at this shoot.

I was in the St Paul area of Alberta on the long weekend and couldn't find any but it was blowing pretty good too.

I am dying here waiting to go down and do some shooting.

I know, technically they aren't rats, and don't even look very rat like, but it makes for a good expression.

Anyhoo, going to start getting things together this weekend. Haven't been camping since Boy Scouts in 1974, but it can't be much different nowadays except that I'll probably sleep in the truck instead of a tent. And I'll be packing a generator to run the coffee maker. And there'll be more beer. Maybe.
