Whelp, It was great meeting all you guys, but if I would of stayed longer, odds are I would of never made it out of that mud hole So right this moment we're heading to Medicine Hat for some shopping. Ain't technology great?
Gotta admit, I'm not impressed with Saskatchewan summers!! but it was really great meeting everyone and as the Captain has said, it was a very good turnout. We reluctantly packed up on Sat. and I was a little concerned for the two big units following us out, the road was really soft and it looked like some who had left before us had to make a couple of runs on a few of the hills. In any event we enjoyed a ride back through snow covered fields and very respectable winds and best news of all, we didn't have to turn the heater up much over half way. I know everyone was real disappointed with the lousy weather, but there wasn't a damn thing anyone could do about it, but look forward to next year, and I've already got a head start on my ammo stockpile.
KUDOS AND A BIG THANK YOU TO PHARAOH AND THE CAPTAIN FOR ALL THEIR HARD WORK PUTTING THIS TOGETHER
Hope you've got enough energy left to start planning next year
We're finally back and while Saturday was a washout Sunday improved and Monday was a slaughter.Kevin303 ,Andrew, his wife and myself stuck it out but we had all taken a couple extra days off so if you were going to head home Sunday we can understand pulling the pin in the crappy weather.Saturday we entertained ourselves with shooting marshmellows off the fence.
Or occuping ourselves with the ranch and everything in it.
Sorry a bit of a shutter bug. Come sunday we had spots when the weather brought the little buggers out.
Monday it was nuts with the other three plus Ernie working the same baseball field plot over and over and over.We had step into the Ho Chee Gopher city and laid waste. I wanted to play farther out with the SL8 and after a couple mags to figure out drop did some damage at about 350-370 yards. In the afternoon they went back out and found another crawling field while I went south of the house sat on a hill , started at about 150 and worked my way out.Heat off the barrel made the last shots a real challenge.
My highlight was walking out of a gullie and having an Antelope standing just 30 yards away. Coming back next year so put me down now and bringing my wife. I'll tell her I'm taking her somewhere exotic for our 31th anniversary.
Glad it worked out for at least a couple of days, god knows you sure paid your dues with the crummy weather. I'm bringing skies, a wet suit and snorkel next year.
