Chalk for Better Grip

I saw lots of EG Fast Grip at Ontario Provincials this past week but I also saw a few people using what looked like climbers chalk. Can anyone comment on chalk vs. the liquid Fast Grip?

Powder chalk works but makes your gun all dusty with it. Liquid chalk generally has alcohol (speeds up moisture drying and oil cutting) mixed with magnesium carbonate. Less messy. Make your own liquid chalk for cheap using 2 parts magnesium carbonate to 1 part rubbing alcohol.

I run plain chalk, I don't like the sticky feel the liquid stuff gives.
