The most important question is: Did you find a second one????

HAK offered me one of those years ago for cheap & I didn't buy it....

Sounds like you've recognised it. But because you were offered one for cheap and didn't take it, youre disqualified from the challenge. What were you thinking??

I weren't thinking.

I think that I've demonstrated that to be a pattern over the years....:(

(besides, I didn't realize how uncommon they were so I was looking for the COS)

Sniper spotting scope.

You win!! (sorry, no prize). That is, providing you haven't turned down an cheap one as well.

Heres a couple photos of it with it's scope:

According to Clive Law's book, there were only 500 of the Cmk1 sniper's telescopes and 500 of the Cno47mk1 stand, both of which were made in 1945. Heres mine in front of my 45 dated LB sniper. The older style stand, which was used with the scout regiment spotting scope is at the side.

The stand was made to fit into the utility pouch. Here it is shown along with the collapsed telescope, it's carry case, and the earlier no21 mk5 (C1A1) stand.

There are now only a few things I have to upgrade on my sniper set up. The rifle scope case I have is a mint Brit one presently, but I would like to come up with either a Cdn steel case (preffered) or a Cdn soft case (correct).
The rifle chest is also a nice Brit one, still on it's first coat of paint with origional markings. I also want to eventually find a Cdn marked chest. And lastly (dare I dream) is a Cdn made M1907 leather sling.
