In the end will go bang just the same, but they are not equal.

Did you contact the vendor ? That's the box design for the Tactical slugs, and the blue shell is the Tac shell color. Was this from a private seller ?

They also sell target loads in blue shells. My buddy bought some 12ga 1oz #7.5s recently and they were blue shells with an aluminum base.

Looking at Challenger's website, I only see one option in the Tactical line, and its 1oz slugs. I also only see one #4 buck option, its listed in the big game loads. I would suspect this is simply a matter of them changing their packaging, or perhaps running out of the "standard" packaging and just using what was on hand.

With the OPs title of Shrinkflation, I was expecting to see a box of 20 rather than 25, mini shells, or a cut open shell with smaller-than-#4 buck shot in it. lol

Point I was trying to make is they are not high brass shells as advertised (granted in a picture, not spelled out), but rather mid height steel or aluminum, not fit for reloading. Was bought from a site vendor. I'm not going to make a lot of bad noise with the vendor as I don't think they knew they had changed. I only bought 1 case so not the end of the world, but it's still worth noting that Challenger seems to have started cutting costs with hulls.

Fair point. If I was expecting to be able to reload them I too would be disappointed.

Keep in mind almost all shells are just flash coated steel. That's lame it isn't as pictured but I have no problem with low brass since brass height hasn't mattered for the better part of a century now.

When it comes to challenger buck shot.....I buy federal. And I'm true red blooded canadian. Sorry challenger.. pick up your game and make a quality product. It's like you ran that on your 7.5 handicap line... your the no name of the kraft diner world. ..... prove me wrong.

Challenger uses standard Cheddite straight wall hulls for all their ammo ... that is what they are.

They can be reloaded .... just not the best hulls for reloading ....

# 4 Buckshot & # 4 Game load are 2 different shells. # 4 Buckshot is larger pellets. About 25 or so...the other is small Bird shot, about half the size of the Buck, so = Not the same.

That explains the box, but doesn't explain the hull which clearly states #4 buck on both pictures.

Challenger, they change hulls from time to time .... I presume depending on availability from Cheddite.

Bought a couple of boxes 12ga 2 3/4 Lead BB shells recently. In the past the hulls were green .... the new ones are orange hulls and the base is not as high ....
