Challenger shot shells opinions please.

I have never seen a Challenger shell with a pierced primer and I have shot thousands through my 3200, Frigon and Miroku and, of course my faithful 870. I have shot with people who shoot them regularly in Brownings and Berettas and have never heard of a problem. Just lucky I guess unless maybe Challenger only ships the good stuff to BC.

I have had primer piercings in the lower barrel of two of my over and unders (Baikal and Miroku). This is due to the construction of the Cheddite primer and the oblique angle of the lower barrel firing pin. There was a post about this on this forum about a year ago where several folks noted the same issue. In my case, for the one gun that was doing it constantly, I remedied the problem by modifying the radius of the firing pin.
BTW - I still use Challenger target shells - its nice to have a Canadian option...

My 870 doesn't like them, had to pump twice every second one ÷( kind of annoying on a clay shooting

we train with them, using Remington 870's. literally 10,000 rounds of challenger ammo, with no issues. we did have a couple of failure to eject with a semi auto's though.
I think you might consider having your shotgun serviced.

Just because I choose not to support a businees from a province that prevents out of province trades from working their, that send out the language cops to stop the use of the english language, and a province that depends on the taxes from outside to keep them going, I am a bigot.Wow.
The owner of Challenger is an acquaintance, a good man and strongly committed to supporting the shooting sports in Canada. That should be more important to a Canadian shooter than bigotry towards the French and resentment towards the government where the company is located.

I'm 51, use english everyday, so does my daughter. Didn't see those cops yet.
Maybe we're on Qc's most wanted outlaws list and don't know it.
As for OUR taxes... as far as I see, it all goes to migrants anyway.

There's other channels to listen to than CBC you know...

So its a free country of sorts -- support the Americans.

I shoot 12 flats a year of the challenger shells 2 3/4 dram 1 or 1 1/8 oz I get the occasional miss fire .however I did buy a flat of 3 dram 1 1/8 oz handicap that had ejection issues in my klnematic A5 . the shell sticking in the chamber . the gun would actually cycle and have the shell from the mag pinned against the mis ejected shell in the chamber . I would need to cycle the bolt by hand multiple time to get it pulled free of the chamber . I am of the mind that the shells may have been at the upper end of pressure curve .

Combined with the approx 4000+ I shot this year, I've seen another 12,000 fired. Never seen a missfire (O/U's or semi's).

They are good to go.

I know the group buy you are talking about =P

In my O/U , the only negative side effect I've noticed is punctured primers...didn't affect function, they all went bang with no problems to eject.
