Greetings

Has anyone on here used the gunexams.com practice exams and gone on to successfully challenge the CFSC and CRFSC courses? If one is to believe the testimonials on the gunexams.com site, challenging the courses is done often with great success.

Obviously this is a cheaper option (money and time) than having to take and pay for both courses. The local instructors in my area don't run courses very often or the times they run them don't work for my schedule. One local instructor doesn't teach the courses, he seems to only hold the exams for people who choose to challenge the courses.

Thanks for any insight you may have.

I did exactly that do the exams till your fed up then do then some more
the actual exams were identical no surprises breezed through because i knew all the answers by heart questions were identical
aced it
As for the practical if you have someone who can run you through the different actions
mostly the acts and prove until you are comfortable it is a cake walk

The good part about the course is you do get a lot of time to get familiar and comfortable with the guns that will be used for the practical tests. I found this quite helpful IMO.

Same here. I had an FAC which turned into a POL but could not buy anything. Read, did practice exams and watched some cheesy videos from the courses that they teach that are on youtube. Was really patient and took my time on the exams and practical and passed both PAL and RPAL. Cost me $90 and 90 min to test. Better than $400 and a weekend.

For me it came down to the ACTS and PROVE always ie. in the practical, I had to cross a fence so ACTS & PROVE, lay rifle on ground on other side with muzzle facing away from you then ACT and PROVE again. My only sticking point was the RPAL and doing ACTS & PROVE on some old revolver I had never handled before but got through it.

Good luck!!

My Hubby challenged his exam and passed without the course. I didn't come from a gun family so I took the course and was glad I did. If you think you know guns just give it a try....

I'm glad I took the courses, as I learned stuff that I needed in order to pass the tests. I grew up around guns, duck hunting with my dad, and then shooting grouse and deer later on as a teenager.
I put my guns aside for many years, and recently getting back into it I wanted to be fully legal so I took the courses. I learned that I didn't know squat! studied my butt off, practiced the ACTS and PROVE with my rifles. I passed with high marks :)
The only thing that I was unsure of was the handguns, (I don't own one yet, so no way to practice on one at home) as I haven't handled one for 30+ years. Our instructor was excellent, and even during our lunch/coffee breaks he was there to help us get familiar with the handguns.
No way I'd have passed without the instruction.

What I'm saying is make sure that you know the material, and also the practical. Pay attention in class, read the material and you will ace it.

If an old F()(T like me can do it then anyone can.
