Chamber to big???? 22WMR

Heres a chamber question Im kind of concerned about.

new 22 WMR rifle has a chamber diameter of .2490 and the SAAMI specs sheet says the chamber should be .2445" +/-.002". ( front of the rim)
the ammo Im using measures .232 diameter. (Casing not bullet)

should I be concerned?

only reason I measured it is I noticed the live ammunition dropped right it without friction unlike my other rifles in that caliber. I haven't noticed any ejection problems other than a few cases got stuck. I assume from swelling up to much. but looked normal after ejection.

Just curious as to how you know that it is .249? Measuring small bores is a tricky skill, and you need a special small bore gauge and a micrometer.
If you got the number with a caliper, it might be correct....or not.
It might sound like I'm overcomplicating it, but ID measurements with an unverified caliper are very suspect.
 
Until you do a chamber cast or as mentioned, have special tools to take those measurements ????????

If the rifle is accurate and the fired cases are not losing their heads when extracted, all should be well.
 
Or get some gauge pins in the correct range to use as a kind of go and no-go for diameter. I agree accurately measuring that small a bore is difficult. I personally would estimate it with gauge pins. Or if you have a lathe turn some pins to just the other side of saami spec for a test. You can also estimate byfiring brass and measuring a few with a mic. Although brass tends to spring a bit on removal so that wouldn't be terribly accurate.

The Winchester 22"WRF" cartridge measures .2415 inches.

I seriously doubt your measurements are correct. If they are, your fired cases should show "bulging"

Winchester made the 1903 semi-auto, Model 67-68, and 1885 chambered for the 22WRF.

the brass after firing is measuring at .247 - .248, doesn't look bulged to my naked eye, and still shoots 3/4'' to 1'' at 50 yards. so im gonna just go with it.
