Anyone know if it is possible to change my folding stock CZ 858 to a fixed stock? I'm thinking about getting an A4 style stock with a recoil tube and I cannot find one that folds. I know FAB makes a fixed stock but I do not know if it can be mounted on a folding stock tactical version.

Any help appreciated.

So what is the best way to get that stock screw out. It appears to need a special wrench with a blade about 5/8" long X1/8" wide, non tapered with guide pin holes at each end. I cannot budge it with a screw driver or impact gun and I am fearful of tearing out the slot trying.

Oh you're going to have with that. I tried with all sorts of screwdrivers and resorted to using a punch and a hammer to slowly and carefully take that screw out.

The receivers are all the same in terms of mounting stocks. There is an M4 style folder out there, but I can't recall the manufacturer.

Removing the stock mounting screw the first time is a real beeotch. Penetrating oil was not sufficient for mine. Heat is the answer, I think. Strip that receiver, and torch the threaded end of the stock mounting screw. I used a lighter, and I was able to remove the screw with a simple flat-blade screwdriver. (but mine was the full fixed stock version)

As stated above, Red Rifles forum will be more help.

My method that I posted in a thread last year. To remove a fixed stock . It would work for a folder too.

1. Remove buttplate
2. Remove receiver cover
3. Stuff a paper towel into back of receiver
4. Liberally spray WD40 into stock. Create a pool of it around the screw. It will find it's way down to the threading.
5. Lean rifle barrel down for about 1.5 hours, or 2 beers.
6. Lay rifle on floor, straddle it, and hold it in place with your knees
7. Jam a 12 inch 3/8 screwdriver into the screw and give it a few solid whacks with a hammer
8. Put 3/8 wrench on screwdriver shank
9. Twist until prolapse is imminent, or you start seeing bright lights. Yelling while doing this step helps.
10. Revel in your triumph

Warning: Do not skip step 3. That screw has a hole in it and you will make a mess. The paper towel not only absorbs the mess, it holds the wd40 against the end of the screw and lets it soak a little. I could've probably sprayed the end of the screw, but didn't want to make a mess of my clean rifles. This was neat and tidy.

I had to grind down an oversized slot-head socket bit to remove a buddy's stock bolt. All my larger screwdrivers were too small and kept slipping.

Alternatively, you can retro-fit the following over-molded folding stock.

Increased length of pull results in better cheek-weld and feel. Still retains folding capability when required.
Makes the gun feel completely different.
