Ok so I just got my first AR in a trade and the first thing I did was swap out some parts from other guns I have.

So the problem I've run into is when I changed out the Tapco 6 position stock with my Ace fixed stock off my 10/22 build. The switch went fine but now I noticed the buffer spring makesa a spung when I rack the gun empty. The Ace stock I have did not have a spring with it just the tube, do I need a longer spring.

I did some reading online and it seems like the spring noise is normal for AR's and I should get used to it.

I also read that I might need a rifle length spring and that it is very bad if I were to shot it with the wrong lenght spring. What's the reallity?

Cheers,
Evan

I used the buffer and spring that came in the Tapco 6 position stock that came on the rifle, the Ace stock did not have one. I did read on the Tapco website there stock did come with a carbine tube, spring and buffer.

Where can I find a well priced rifle buffer and spring near Toronto, or is someone selling a used set. Ill post an add in the EE section.

Cheers,
Evan
