Hunting Regulations 2010 • 2011

PENDING – Hunting Attractants
In order to prevent the introduction of Chronic Wasting
Disease, a restriction on the use of hunting attractants
(e.g. scents, lures, urines) which contain a body part or
fluid of a member of the deer family, including glands or
urine, is being considered. Prior to using these products,
please check for additional updates at ontario.ca/hunting or
call 1-800-667-1940.

PENDING – Hunting Blinds
A regulation is in development that would require hunters,
who hunt from manufactured ground blinds, to add hunter
orange material to the outside of these blinds, during
periods that hunter orange clothing is required.
There are other changes pending...these 2 are the ones that most directly affect me as a deer hunter.

Others can be found HERE: http://www.mnr.gov.on.ca/stdprodconsume/groups/lr/@mnr/@fw/documents/document/239842.pdf

I wonder what their definition of "manufactured" means...is that store bought blinds or does it include blinds made from trees, 2x4's and nails?........Soon elevated blinds will have to be orange too......I think all these increases in the use of hunter orange should only apply to those hunting on public land.

I think all these increases in the use of hunter orange should only apply to those hunting on public land.

The problem with that is there are too many trespassers who treat ALL land as public land. :kickInTheNuts:

The requirement for big-game (firearm) hunters to wear orange...I can accept. But this is getting a little ridiculous.

Like archie126 said...increased theft risk for sure. And at $100-$300 per blind, its going to get expensive.
So what will we have to do now...haul a blind in and out of the bush every day to prevent it from disappearing. :runaway:
