I'd like to introduce myself. My name is Nicholas Chee from Reliable Gun in Vancouver and I've taken over the online footprint of our company for Shane and John. We know that we haven't played a huge role on CGN and our website was a bit "lacking" in the past but we are working hard at updating it and making it is as user friendly and organized as possible. Ultimately though I work for you all, we are here to service your needs whether it's new products, gunsmithing or advice. This is an ongoing project for me and I would like to hear what you think through your feedback and advice. I can be reached anytime by PM or Nick@reliablegun.com.

Here are just a few changes to the website we have done lately and have many more to come.

Shipping rates: We have enabled three shipping options and hounded our couriers for better rates to keep costs down and are trying to offer free shipping where we can.

Organization: We are trying to make it easier to find the products you want and need. We currently have over 25000 products in the store and are releasing new catagories and items daily onto the website, but if ever there is a product we don't show please feel free to contact us about availability.

Prices: For any of you have physically been in the store you know that we have a very large selection of firearms and are full line dealers for most current firearm and ammunition manufacturers. That gives us buying power and helps us with things like our new **PRICE MATCH POLICY** so we will do everything we can to get you the product for the lowest cost.

If there is anything you ever need please do not hesitate to ask.
Thank you again,
Nicholas Chee

It's been a couple days now after upgrading our sponsorship.

This is a post I'd like to have the chance for a couple more people to see.

Please feel free to contact me with and questions you might or any feedback you can think of.

All the best,
Nick

Hey Nicholas,

Thanks for the update, the site is looking great. I am currently shopping around for a small safe, thinking handgun size unless I can find a small rifle size for a reasonable price. Your site has a section for safes but only displays cases at the moment. Could you update to show the safes you carry?

Glad to see you guys starting to be more active here, you are my local store, and ive been wondering when you were to come out of the shadows! Hoping you will get some more powder and bullets in soon, im sure with many others hoping the same thing! You really do have a great selection of items! Cheers!

The one time I needed a part from a firearms dealer I made several calls. I knew the part maker and part number I needed so looking it up would be easy for a store. Called Wholesale sports in Langley as they are nearest to me. No dice, Called stores further away and yet further. Finally started calling stores in Vancouver. Then I got to Reliable. Guy on the phone said in stock. Said can you put it aside for me as I am in Surrey and it would take time to get there. Guy gives me his name and I get there and ask to see him. He comes around the corner and says HERE YA GO. Paid for the part and was on my way. Something tells me they have a very large selection of items in too small a store. You need to expand or open another store. Langley has space hint hint. Can't invite you to Surrey as the local govt. is anti gun. They nicely nixed plans for a firearms swap meet of sorts. Next time I need firearm related parts, You are at the top of my list

your new website is a huge improvement over the old, both in layout and also the data entry part. like you said in the OP a lot more of the store is "visible online and i am glad.
As a result of the new website i have been taking a look at what Reliable has to offer a lot more frequently. Because of that i was able to land a case of my favorite do all 22 ammo -the CCI std.vel. which has become extinct over here - mostly
So now i get to say thanks!! the online position of reliable is a whole lot better now and i look a lot more , and buy too. cheers!

Can't find on your site if you guys accept American Express cards ?? I would like to make a order for some ammo but I have sprained my Visa card for the month !!

This will take you guys to the next level.

I have only ever bought one rifle from reliable a few years ago but it was not available anywhere else and you posted an add here and I phoned in.
I had phoned a lot of places because I wanted it so bad. I much prefer to just find and click though.

This will increase your sales exponentially. I hate phoning everywhere and love just putting stuff in my cart. I'm sure lots of others do too.

Great to see you upgrading your online presence. You were the first place I bought my first firearm at several years back when I first got my license. You have been one of a couple go to places for my firearm needs ever since.

Glad to hear you a working to address the shipping question. Canda is just so big and sparsely populated we get killed on shipping compared to the US. It's especially important as I'm about as far from your store as I can get!

Thanks guys, it's been a lot of time and work getting products on the website. We've got a lot of interesting stuff here and everyday more and more gets added. The shop has been in the family for over 65 years so we've got a number of really interesting lines and connections in the industry. So like swbw2000 and Edzzed said we've got a PILE of interesting guns and parts or if they are still available, can usually source them. I've been getting a bunch of feed back about getting more products on the site so if there is something you'd like to see make it on there next, just let me know and I'll do what I can to get them up there.

Couple quick replies to you guys:

Too be honest it was a conscious decision to not put the safes up yet since they cost so much to ship and the online calculators do not represent a true freight cost. We do have a number of cabinets and safes so for now I'll PM you about our inventory. Maybe I should show the products available or that can be brought in and get you guys/girls to contact us to get a better idea for freight. What are your thoughts?

Ya that's usually how it works! As much as we've modernized the store, we've got old style gunsmiths and 65 years of parts downstairs. We've been the warranty depot for numerous manufacturers and have all sorts of parts. Usually we get the grey wizard(Dave) to let us know if we've got them if the guns over 40 years old.

Make sure you get some Ice on the Visa card because you'll need it for that ammo. I'm sorry but we would get dinged way to hard to stay competitive if we were to use American Express. We do Visa, Mastercard, EMT or if need be a cheque we can clear at the bank.

Ya tell me about it! Some of the rates shipping companies were quoting were just killing us, like $30 to ship a boresnake from Vancouver to Quebec. Absolutely unacceptable so we've had a lot of talks with all the companies that could compete and I think we've got it down to much more acceptable rates(and free where ever we can). Our relationship with the customer is everything in this business and we're doing what we can to save everyone money.

Too everyone else, we really hope this change does take us to a new level because the better we do as a company, the more our buying power we have and that translates to being able to offer you more.

Best regards,
Nicholas Chee

Thanks for the reply! I live in the lower mainland, so I could easily pick it up. I am more interested in knowing what you have or can get and the price ranges. My bad for not making that clear, I can definitely see the shipping being astronomical on such a heavy item. I would appreciate a PM with this info. Again I am looking for a handgun size, but if the price is right I may go for something larger to accommodate future rifle purchases as well. Thanks again Nicholas.

Using Firefox on three different laptops (two Win 8, the other Win7 Pro) and the pricing and Add to Cart buttons are over top of the product descriptions, at least on the Sale page.
