So what changes have your ARs been through until you finally settled on one configuration?

1st go. Holding on to just the rails while shooting sucks. Mag changes with 10rnd mags are not fun either.

2nd try. VFG, sling and rail covers made it MUCH more shootable :D.

last one (until I get a Short dot and lightweight 16" middy bbl :p). Swapped the CAA stock for a UBR, now its a bit more balanced.

I can never "settle". Once I think I've got them just the way I want it someone makes a new toy/component/accessory that I have to add into the mix:).

I hear ya!

That HK/AR mutant haunts my dreams! I can't like it no matter how many times I see it. I will sleep much better when a Shortdot jumps on top.

Ha, it'll be a while until I go for the short dot, word is Nightforce is coming out with a 1x/4x optic soon that I am hoping to try out.

Nobody else with pics of their AR"s evolution??? :)

Mine is really boring. Its set up for Service Conditions shooting. Flat top with 1 1/2-5 Falcon scope. 19" 1:8 barrel, fitted with a simple brake. Tubular handguard, because that is the easiest way to install a forestock on a barrel that has a clamp-on gas block and no front sight base. I do have a pistol grip that has a bit more meat to it than a standard, and a larger trigger guard so my trigger finger doesn't rub on the guard. No rails, lights, lasers, vertical grips or bipod. No 10 shot magazines, because Service Conditions specifies 5 round magazines with mandatory changes, and a 5/30 makes a much better rest and shooting aid for position shooting. Really boring rifle. Accurate though.

That's pretty neat, the HK/AR thing. But I'm wondering has anyone ever fitted an airsoft 203 to an AR just for looks? Is it even possible?
Have you never heard of a Spikes 37mm flare launcher? You'll see the odd one mounted on some CGN members AR in various pics posts. Oh, and it's not airsoft, it is capable of launching flares.

Its been done before, mostly by americans. Why anybody would do it is just crazyness. I really don't like the extra weight of an actual 203 attatched, let alone a fake one
