So I just bought a Rem sps varmint in 22-250. I am not a huge fan of the sps stock so I would like to replace it with a wood stock. Ideally the VLS stock would fit best but they are hard to find.
I would like to put either a BDL or ADL stock on this rifle if I can find one. I assume that as long as I can find a SA ADL or BDL stock, the action will fit fine, am I correct?
The other issue is the barrel contour, with the heavy barrel can I just sand the barrel channel to open it up in order to fit the barrel, or will this not work?

The standard BDL stock is thinner in width than the BDL heavy barrel stock. It can be opened up though. I have one done that way... the forend 'edges' are pretty 'sharp'. A BDL heavy barrel stock is much nicer, the VLS stock is the nicest. I have a new one of those I would sell. PM if interested.
